

It is with sad hearts that our family announces the passing of Isabella Rooke. Isabella passed away peacefully on January 11, 2016 at the age of 72. She was preceded by her loving husband Allen James Rooke of Coquitlam, British Columbia; brother, Jack Hardwick; and her parents, John and Isabella Hardwick of Dalkeith, Scotland. She is survived by her loving children, Lara Catherine Rooke of Seattle, Washington; Vanessa Isobel Saks (Matthew) of Santa Monica, California; and James Daniel Peter Rooke of Coquitlam, British Columbia; and her two grandchildren, Violet and Brody Saks of Santa Monica, California. She is lovingly remembered by her brothers Tom and Peter Hardwick and her sister, Catherine Hardwick of Dalkeith, Scotland; together with her sisters-in-law, Gladys and Irene Hardwick, and her nephews, nieces and all her friends.
Isabella was born in Bellshill, Scotland on April 25, 1943, but moved to Dalkeith, Scotland shortly after her birth. In 1969, Isabella married Allen and lived in the small town of Anglesey, North Wales until the birth of their daughter, Lara. In 1971, Isabella and her family moved to Raglan, in the south of Wales and gave birth to Vanessa in 1973, and James in 1977. In August of 1980, the family immigrated to Canada, where they lived in Coquitlam, British Columbia. She will be remembered as a talented artist, great cook, loving mother, wife, and grandmother, enthusiastic storyteller, and compassionate friend. Isabella was a vibrant, charismatic, generous and kind woman, who will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service for Isabella will take place at Forest Lawn Funeral Home (3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, British Columbia) on January 24th at 10:00 am, followed by a reception at 11:30 am. All friends are invited to attend.
