Ivica Rukavina

Rukavina, Ivan – December 8, 1947 – June 26, 2019 - passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed. Survived by his loving wife of 47 years Luja, daughters Katy (Dennis) and Caroline (Darryl) and four grandchildren, who were his pride and joy; Jacob, Joshua, Lila and Katelyn; sister Kata (Joso); niece Mandy and nephew Ivan; Cousins Mary and Katy (Bob) and their family as well as many other nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Croatia. Predeceased by parents Joso and Dragica, and his Teta Kata. Ivan was born in Trnovac, Croatia and immigrated to Canada in 1970. He was a hard working, kind and generous man who devoted his life to his family and left an impression on everyone he met. A very special thank you to Dr. G. Lorenzon, the Tri-Cities Palliative Home Care nurses and Dr. J. Eddy for their loving and compassionate care. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 5 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Catholic Church, 3105 East 1st Avenue, Vancouver. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, South Mausoleum, 4000 Imperial St. Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
