Mr. Jack Suey Ping Yee

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Jack Suey Ping Yee. He passed away peacefully on the morning of February 10th, 2025. He spent the last three months and ten days under the gentle care and attention of Dr. Chapman, her team of nurses, and volunteers at St. Michael’s Hospice.

Jack was born on January 29th, 1932, in Hoi Ping, Guangdong, China, and immigrated to Vancouver, Canada, when he was a teenager. He went to school at Henry Hudson and King George High.

His first job was working at Ocean Falls Pulp Mill, before becoming a dedicated employee at H.Y. Louie Co. Ltd., where he retired at 65 as a warehouse receiver.

Jack is survived by his devoted wife Euginnie Yiu Chup, their children Eva (Ming), Ellen (Harry), Gavin (Jacquie), Elena, and Glenn (Sandy), his grandchildren Amanda (Mike), Sara (Damien), Courtney (Kenta), Nicole (Christopher), Emilie (Daryl), Dylan (Abbey), Samantha (Samuel), Colin, Cameron (Nishani), Skylar, and Parker, and his great-grandchildren Oliver, Elias, Sofia, Oskar, Mads, Iverson, and Joni.

He has always said how proud he was of his children and their families. Jack’s legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His memory will continue to guide the Yee family for generations.

Jack loved spending time with his family, especially during the holidays and special family milestones. He recently celebrated his 93rd birthday, which also coincided with the Chinese New Year festivities.

His friendly smile, easygoing nature, and sense of humour made a lasting impression on those he met.

A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G3M1.

A graveside service will occur Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G 4A9.
