We sadly announce the passing of Roland, beloved brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his sister Edith (Hopkins), nieces and nephews, Sandra (Ray ) Atchison, Terrence (Debbie) Hopkins, Cheryl (Jim) Mann, Richard (Arlene) Hopkins, Gerry Ekland, Cecil Nichols and many grandnieces and nephews. Roland left his prairie home of Moose Jaw, SK at a young age to make his mark in life. He would join his older siblings and settle in Vancouver, BC. He worked most of his life at Carling O’Keefe’s Brewery. He was a devoted fan of the BC Lions since 1954. His commitment to his older sister Mary did not go unnoticed. In recent years he made many close friends at the Seafield (apts.) in the West End where he battled against eviction and high rent increases. He will be remembered and cherished always. Services will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 27th, 2011 at 2:00 PM.
