It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who passed away on February 27, 2026 at the age of 90.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 66 years Nancy, his children Craig and Janice, grandchildren Sabrina, Jacob, Sophia, Kathleen, James and Monique.
Jim was born September 28, 1935 in Edmonton, Alberta. He came to Vancouver with his family when he was 4 years old. His school years were Gilmore Elementary, Templeton Junior High and Vancouver Tech High School followed by night school at UBC to gain his RIA degree (now CMA) in accounting. From high school Jim worked at Fleck Brothers, then Labatt Brewery and finally BC Shippers Supplies where he stayed 34 years. Upon retiring at 58 years old, he and Nancy did a great deal of travelling.
Jim loved curling, skiing and golfing. He was a rockhound and jewelry maker, as well as a photographer. He enjoyed playing poker, fishing and golfing with the guys, and pretty much any social event.
He was generous, compassionate, a life- long learner and always had a ready smile. Jim did not want a big song and dance after he passed. There will be a small family celebration of his life.
Now as Jim would be thinking - let’s get on with it.
