Jeanette Kwok Chun Yue Wei, age 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 27, 2023. She was born on July 4, 1932 in Kowloon, Hong Kong and was married to her soulmate Frank Bing Hong Wei for 59 years who predeceased her in 2015. They both immigrated from Hong Kong to Canada in 1990 to be with their sons and since made North Vancouver their happy home.
Jeanette is survived by her sons Michael (Vicki) and Victor (Terry Kornutiak) of North Vancouver, Canada, her daughter Elaine (Stanley Yeung) of Hong Kong, and her grandchildren, Nicole and Brandon, of Vancouver, Canada. She is predeceased by her daughter, Yvonne, of Sydney, Australia. Jeanette was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother above all else. She treasured her children and grandchildren as true God’s blessings and embraced every moment with them, especially at the dinner table with her favourite dishes.
An animated storyteller and a strong believer, Jeanette had a distinct, lovable personality and always collected smiles from those around her. She made friends and shared her strong faith in Christ everywhere she went. She loved playing and listening to the piano, especially pieces composed by Chopin. She also enjoyed scenic autumn car rides, sweet treats and waltzing with Frank to the tune of Engelbert Humperdinck.
For 32 years, Jeanette attended West Vancouver Baptist Church where she made many good friends and fond memories. Her life was a living example of her favourite Bible verse, 1 Corinthians 13:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs.
Please join us celebrating her life Saturday morning June 10, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at West Vancouver Baptist Church, 450 Mathers Ave, West Vancouver, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke BC:
