Jerry was one of those special people that you meet once in a lifetime. Jerry was a proud father and husband, who always kept me updated on the latest. It could be a video clip or just a short message but I was always guaranteed a big laugh whenever I was around Jerry. He was larger than life. 

Thank you for being a great friend over the years. We are all going to miss you, Jerry!

Jerry King has been a generous contributor of AREAA Vancouver for many years, and was also a regularly featured guest speaker at our past events.  His contribution to our non-profit organization is unparalleled and will always be remembered, like this event here taken place at the Chinatown Storytelling Centre on February 28, 2024.

I first met Jerry thanks to a close friend who recommended him for his incredible skill in feng shui and baizi fortune telling. Over the years, our consultations turned into a friendship—we’d chat about the latest Marvel movies, his awesome collection, and his boys’ hockey and ice skating achievements. He wasn’t just someone I went to for advice, but also a devoted dad who loved sharing parenting tips about raising boys.

My heartfelt condolences to the King family.

Jerry was always the life of the party whenever we were at the hockey rink. My son wouldn’t be where he is today without Jerry’s love for the game. He was the glue that brought everyone together through hockey.

His passion for the game inspired me deeply. He was a man who brought people together, not just for hockey, but through it. I feel incredibly lucky that I had the chance to tell him how much I appreciated everything he did for me and my family.

If I could go back in time, I’d tell him again: you weren’t just a friend, you became family. You will be truly missed.

Jerry was one of the good guys in the industry. Smart as a whip, loved a laugh, and always willing to share his knowledge and truth. He brought depth and clarity to Feng Shui and Bazi, especially for non-Chinese speaking audiences who were ready for more than surface-level teachings.

I first connected with Jerry through the early days of social media in 2009. He commented on one of my Feng Shui posts that started a connection and quickly grew into professional respect and friendship over 15 years. 

Although we lived on opposite sides of the world, it didn’t take long before I knew I had to learn from him. He generously shared insights from a Chinese cultural perspective that were invaluable to me as a new Feng Shui consultant. 

I travelled to Hong Kong for immersive one-on-one training with Jerry - covering Bazi, Form School and San Yuan methods, along with a Feng Shui tour of Hong Kong’s iconic buildings (and plenty of yum cha stops along the way). His teaching style clicked with me - authentic, efficient and unpretentious. 

In 2010, I invited Jerry to Australia, where he stayed with me and my family and taught Four Pillars of Destiny and Feng Shui in Melbourne. I organised his consultations and we would joke about me being his ‘pimp’ - promoting him for Bazi readings, delivered in his trademark blunt style, with no holding back.

Jerry made a real impact in the world of Chinese Metaphysics. Feng Shui consultants around the world have benefited from his knowledge, sharp mind and honest take on the practice. He was a major influence in my early Feng Shui career, and I’ll always be grateful for the time we shared.

Without Jerry our team wouldn’t exist. He done so much for all the kids surrounding him.

Jerry and I became friends through hockey. He was passionate about helping all kids reach their potential and great at offering advice when it came to the sport he loved.  Jerry made everyone laugh and was a devoted and loving father. I will miss Jerry very much, I feel fortunate to have known him and will never forget his infectious laugh. Rest in peace Jerry ❤️

We are still in shock 😳 that Jerry is not going to hangout with us and share his Feng Shui knowledge. The picture here is when Jerry last spoke at our events in February 2024. 
Jerry has been a HUGE supporter of AREAA (Asian Real Estate Association of America) Vancouver Chapter, and been a special guest and speaker at our events! 
Once I came to find out from Tina Mak that Jerry was diagnosed, I was praying, hoping and believing in full recovery for Jerry. 
Just a few days ago, I came to find out (once again from Tina Mak) that Jerry’s condition was deteriorating very quickly and then the passing away — I was in absolute shock! I 
Speaking on behalf of AREAA Vancouver Executive Team and all the Board of Directors - we pray that Jerry holds the highest place in the heavens in the hereafter.

I rarely post, but today I feel the need to honor a truly special soul.

Jerry was not only a master of Feng Shui and Chinese metaphysics, he was a beautiful human being.
Kind, humble, thoughtful, and passionate, he shared his deep knowledge with generosity and heart.
I had the immense privilege of learning from him.
Our encounter marked me deeply.
What a blessing it was to cross paths with him.

With grace and simplicity, he passed on ancient wisdom,
planting seeds of understanding that still grow within me today.
For this precious transmission, I am deeply grateful.

Rest in peace among the Angels, dear Jerry.
You are now one of the brightest stars in the sky.

Condolences to Elizabeth, Magnus & your 2 other brothers. Growing up w/ Jerry he was a very fun friend as we grew from little kids playing around Saint Francis Xavier elementary during summer school. 

What many don't know is being a hockey dad wasn't Jerry's first passionate hobby. Jerry was the Fast & Furious before the movie franchise. He spent hours devoted to soup'n up his silver Toyota MK4 Supera. But as we grow up, that same passion & commitment transitioned to his boys.

Jerry's team name for his boys' spring hockey team was simply ahead of popular culture & immortal for us gen x'ers: Cobra Kai.

It's been a long day, I miss you my friend.I'll tell you all about it when I see you again. It's hard to imagine you having won all those 1/4 mile runs at Iona only to lose to cancer. I guess you were always a little bit ahead of your time. May your memory live on through your family & for those in the hockey community at the many rinks. Most of all, just like Cobra kai - your memory, will never die!

Myself and Jerry shared a common Bazi  passion. We interacted on this subject and he was always polite and welcoming. So sad to hear the news!

Jerry will be fondly remembered as the ultimate hockey dad, always committed to helping his boys thrive and making it a goal to ensure they had the best hockey experience possible.   

He always had the biggest grin on his face, with his trademark Oilers hat on, phone in hand, ready to film our games with his video commentary – colourful at times -   eager to document special hockey memories and help get our team to the next level.    As a team manager, I experienced his generosity and kind heart as he was always willing to help out behind the scenes and provide support in whatever way he could.   

Jerry didn’t just look out for his own kids, he was also a community builder, often renting ice on his own time and bringing kids together from different clubs, providing many opportunities for the kids to improve and share the love of hockey together.  

His passion for hockey and generous spirit will leave a big hole in the Thunderbirds family.    RIP Jerry.  You have the best seat in the rink now and your play-by-play commentary will be louder than ever.

Jerry King — a beloved friend, dedicated father, and unforgettable hockey dad — whose spirit and passion touched the lives of many.

Jerry was more than just a familiar face in the local arenas — he was a force of nature. I had the privilege of knowing Jerry for many years, both as a close friend of the family and as a fellow parent in the youth hockey community. His presence at the rink was as constant as the sound of skates on ice. Whether in arenas, hotels, parking lots, or even hallways, Jerry found every opportunity to teach and encourage his kids. Hockey wasn’t just a sport for Jerry — it was a way of life, and he lived it with unmatched dedication.

His routine was legendary. Meals were timed, wake-ups were punctual, and bedtime was non-negotiable — 8:30 PM sharp. His structure wasn’t strictness for the sake of control; it was his way of giving his kids the best chance to succeed, and he carried it out with tireless love.

I remember the hockey trips to Prince George where Jerry would drive from rink to hotel and back again — no tourist stops, no scenic detours. Hockey was the mission, and Jerry stayed on course. That said, he always made time for good food. He explored local restaurants with a curious palate and a skeptical wallet, never shy to voice his opinion when prices soared a little too high.

And who could forget Jerry behind the camera, recording every game with his own brand of passionate, hilarious commentary.  His voice, cheering on his kids and giving referees an earful for missed calls, will echo in our memories for years to come.

Jerry’s commitment to his children, to hockey, and to those he cared about was unwavering. He gave his time, energy, and heart so fully, and in doing so, left an enduring impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He will be missed deeply — at the rink, around the dinner table, and in all the little places where his love and laughter once filled the air.

My heart aches to think of a world without Jerry. I'll never forget that first time meet  with him and his beautiful family in 2018; their vibrant energy was truly infectious, and Jerry's radiant smile can always light up any room. He was a beacon of warmth and patience, especially when he was on the ice, guiding the kids he coached with such gentle understanding. It's truly difficult to imagine the rink without his unwavering presence, cheering on his boys with that familiar, joyful spirit. Jerry touched so many lives with his kindness, and he'll be profoundly missed.

Le monde de la métaphysique est en deuil aujourd’hui : nous perdons un formateur visionnaire, un auteur éclairé, mais surtout un être généreux qui a marqué de nombreuses trajectoires. Today, the world of metaphysics mourns the loss of a visionary teacher, a gifted author, and above all, a generous soul who profoundly shaped so many paths. It is with deep sadness that I share the passing of my Bazi mentor and teacher, Jerry King. I had the privilege of learning advanced Bazi courses from him in Singapore, alongside a group of like-minded enthusiasts. We were in awe of his remarkable memory; he could recall every detail of the birth charts from his case studies without any notes.

I remember a time when I needed urgent guidance on a Bazi chart. I reached out to Master Jerry King, forgetting about the ocean that separated us—I was in Singapore, and he was in Vancouver, along with the time difference. Despite this, he responded immediately with the guidance I needed. I am truly grateful for such a selfless mentor who was always willing to help his students.

I am deeply saddened by his passing. May his soul rest in peace.

It was a fun SpeedSkating Dads trip with Jerry  in the BC Winter Games 2024. We drove around Prince George during the free time together. He asked me to watch the local Hockey games before dinner because it was close to the hotel. He shared a lot of knowledge, hints and tricks about purchasing SpeedSkating equipment. Moreover, the way he trained his kids was very useful for me to train my son in the past year, too. I had no idea why God took a good man and good friend back so early.  The whole RRSSC team misses him so much.

I want to offer my deepest condolences to Jerry's family.  I remember meeting him while traveling in Colombia and how much he radiated joy and curiosity (and a love for Feng Shue and numbers). I was saddened to hear of his passing,  and wanted to let his family know he spread joy and goodness 
 all the way to Colombia,  as it seems he did at home too.

I got to know Jerry because our kids all play hockey. I often saw a father patiently skating around cones again and again with his three sons—big, medium, and small—during public ice sessions. One day, I gathered the courage to go up and talk to him, hoping he might be willing to teach my son as well.

Jerry was incredibly generous and friendly. He not only agreed without hesitation to play hockey together, but even created a group chat to share the ups and downs of our little hockey players’ journeys. His stories, both the good and the tough, brought us so much insight and laughter.

We are deeply saddened by his passing. May he rest in peace. He will be missed.

It is with a heavy heart and deep reverence that I offer my condolences for the passing of Master Jerry. 

I met Master Jerry more than ten years ago in Mexico. His teachings were more than just words or methods; they were transmissions of spirit. 

Although he has now crossed the veil, I know that his spirit continues to flow freely, like wind through the pines, like water through the mountains. His light remains with us in every aligned space, in every still moment, in every act of intention.

May his soul be received with love and peace in the realms beyond, and may those of us who remain honor his legacy by living with harmony, humility, and heart.

I was saddened to hear about Jerry’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with him for two years, and during that time, he left a lasting impression on me, not just as a colleague, but as a friend.

Jerry had a natural charisma that drew people in. Whether he was analyzing my feng shui chart so convincingly I almost wanted to pay for more sessions, talking about wins and losses on the stock market, or going back and forth into our endless banter about the Oilers and Titans, he always brought authenticity and energy to the discussion.   He was easygoing, and his great sense of humor made it all the more engaging.  I truly admired his adventurous spirit, especially his passion for travel, his eagerness to explore different cultures, and of course, his love of good food.

Please accept my deepest condolences. Jerry will be dearly missed, and I hope you can find comfort in knowing how much he meant to those of us who had the privilege of working with him.
