Mrs. Joan Marie Campbell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt and friend on January 31, 2022 in her 96th year. Survived by daughters Diana (Tim), Lois (Jeff), grandchildren James, Brendan, Conrad and Kate and predeceased by her daughter Barbara and son Joseph.

Growing up Joan loved playing sports and often told us fascinating stories of her childhood years which included bike excursions to the North Shore for skiing and to New Westminster and Stanley Park to see King George VI when he was on a royal tour. As an administrative assistant and bookkeeper throughout her working years, her nature was to support those around her. In her late 60’s, Joan retired from the B.C. Securities Commission and spent more time on her passionate pastime, bridge. Joan attained her Silver Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League in her 80’s, however, nothing trumped her dedication to her family. She was an exceptional listener with a compassionate heart for those close to her. Her ever-present smile, kindness and love supported us throughout our lives. The family would like to thank her good friend Claire Wells for her love and support over the past few years.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Chapel, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC
