Mr. Joseph Vui Lim Wong

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Vui Lim Wong. Joseph was born in Malaysia in 1948, and passed away suddenly from heart attack in Vancouver, BC on December 24, 2011 at the age of 63. He is dearly survived by his wife Annie Dorothy Soon, his daughter Jo- Ann and many friends. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and colleagues.

According to Saint Paul's Hospital, Joseph passed away at 6:07 pm on Dec 24, 2011 due to a massive heart attack. He was picked up by the paramedics at 4:45 pm and arrived at the hospital conscious. Despite their best efforts (for over a half hour), the hospital doctors were unable to resuscitate him. Dorothy (Annie) was informed by phone shortly after that. Accompanied by her mum, she rushed to the hospital, followed later by his daughter Jo-Ann and her Aunt Catherine and Uncle Joe. They all observed that Joseph’s passing was peaceful and without suffering.

Earlier that same day (Dec. 24), Joseph and Dorothy had lunch together in Vancouver. They parted shortly after 2 pm, after arranging to meet again at 7:00 pm, to pick up Jo-Ann at the Richmond airport. She was coming home for the holidays. Her flight from Montreal was scheduled to arrive at 8:30 pm.

Joseph was very excited and was looking forward to meeting up with his only daughter again whom he hasn't seen since March. He was also looking forward to being off from work for a ‘few’ days.

Viewing will be held Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 at 9:45 am at Holy Cross Parish, 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby, B.C. followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 am . Inurnment will take place at later date.
