Mrs. Jovanka Miladinovic

Jovanka was born to Bozo and Jovana Miskin on June 6, 1928 in the small town of Orasje near the City of Trebinje which is within present day Bosnia and Hercegovina.

On May 6, 1962 Jovanka landed in Canada at the Montreal airport and then flew to Vancouver BC, where she met her future husband Djuro Miladinovic. On June 1, 1962 Jovanka and Djuro were married and on November 12, 1963 their son Jovan was born.

Jovanka worked at Drapeshire Clothiers as a seamstress for many years and several other jobs until her retirement. Later in life nothing brought her more pleasure than taking care of her four grandkids. Their fondest memories of Baba are either great home cooked food or the adventure of walking up with her to McDonalds and ordering a kid’s meal. Even as they became young adults Baba would still constantly ask if they were hungry.

Jovanka is predeceased by her husband Djuro and by her brothers Rajko, Milan and Savo.

Left to mourn Jovanka’s passing is her son Jovan (Susan) and grandchildren Alicia, Josephine, Djuro and Danica.

Funeral services will be held on July 7, 2021 at 12:00 pm at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, 7837 Canada Way Burnaby BC. This will be followed by the burial ceremony at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave. Burnaby BC.
