He is survived by his wife, Susan Wai Ying Chan; his son, Lawrence, and daughter-in-law, Natalie; his daughter, Julie, and son-in-law, Peter; his grandson, James; and his sister, Su.
Kwok Sou Chan was born on January 16, 1933 in Hong Kong, and he immigrated to Canada in 1952. In 1974, he married Susan, and the couple subsequently welcomed two children, Lawrence and Julie. For over 25 years, he worked as a technician in a soil laboratory for the federal government, until his retirement in 1992.
Kwok Sou Chan was an avid fan of horse racing. He was also a dedicated husband, father, brother, and grandfather, and he enjoyed spending time with his family.
A funeral is scheduled for 10:00am on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Ocean View Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held on Thursday, January 17 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
