Leone Giovanni Fasan

Leone passed away on October 6, 2016, age 66. He is predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Luigia. He is survived by his loving family, wife Maria, the love of his life for 44 years, children Rosalba (Craig), Sonia (Michael) and Maria Pia (Ezra); grandchildren Matthew, Brendan, Antonio, Aleisha and Gideon, all the pride and joy of his life; loving sisters Gemma and Gianna and their families in Italy, as well as many other family members. Leone was an avid sports enthusiast, especially soccer. He was instrumental in the founding of the Italian Canadian Soccer Federation and also involved in the Trevisani nel Mondo Association. Over the years he played goalie and refereed many soccer games. He also managed several Veneto teams to ICSF Championships. He was a man of integrity, striving to be of service with passion and honesty. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel at 4276 Hastings St., Burnaby. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 12th at 12:00 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 2025 Napier Street, Vancouver. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, B.C. A special thank-you to Dr. Yu and staff at the Burnaby Hospital Cancer Clinic and the team at the Burnaby Hospital palliative ward. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Bursary Fund or Notre Dame Regional Secondary Bursary Fund.
