Lloyd Barney Sung

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Sung, 65, on September 16, 2024, in Burnaby, B.C. He was the beloved son of Oliver and Alice Sung (both predeceased) and the dear brother of Candice (the late Vince), Terry (Edna), and Melody (Allan).

Lloyd was born and raised in Burnaby, B.C. He was known for his delicious cooking and baking at every family occasion. He enjoyed listening to music, golfing, skiing, shopping, cheering on his favorite sports teams, and vacationing with family, including a few recent trips to Hawaii.

He was at the heart of many family functions and was always busy in the kitchen. As the youngest of four, he enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and being surrounded by those he loved most. He was a loving uncle to Derek, Adam (Brittany), Matthew (Andrea), Samantha (Kevin),Tyler, Kyle, and Vanessa. He is also survived by six grand-nephews/nieces, many cousins,extended family, and a wealth of friends.

Lloyd will be remembered as a loving, generous, humorous, and gentle brother, uncle, and friend. His memory will live on in us all.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd, with a viewing at 12:00 PM and a service at 1:00 PM at Ocean View Funeral Home, followed by a reception at Yan’s Garden. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Lloyd’s life.

In honour of Lloyd’s love for Hawaii and his many Hawaiian shirts, please dress in Hawaiian attire (e.g., shirt, blouse, dress).
