It is with great sadness that the family of Lois Cooper announces her peaceful passing at St. Michael’s Hospice in Burnaby. Her peace came in the early hours of March 19, following a short illness. She was predeceased by her parents Alex and Alice Smart. Lois is survived by her son Blair (Janice) Cooper and grandsons Taylen and Benjamin. She will be deeply missed by her sister Ruth (Gordon) Woods and family, and her brother Leonard (Thelma) Smart and family. Additionally, Lois leaves a number of close relatives and many good friends. Lois was born in Calgary, Alberta. When she was 10, the family moved to Maple Ridge where she completed high school. Following graduation, she studied bookkeeping and accounting, acquiring skills that she used all of her life. She has resided at various times in Vancouver, Burnaby, Kamloops, Port Moody and most recently in Surrey.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC on Saturday, March 24th, 2012 at 10:00 am. Mr. Walter Burkinshaw officiating.
