Born on October 26, 1927 in St. Paul Alberta she lived a long and meaningful life marked by kindness, creativity, and quiet adventure. She was a patient, warm, and friendly woman who connected easily with others and left a gentle impression wherever she went.
For many years, Lorraine worked as a talented seamstress, running her own business from her home. Through her work, she formed close friendships and became a trusted and valued part of her community. Her skill, dedication, and care were reflected not only in the garments she created, but in the relationships she built along the way.
She shared many wonderful years with her husband, Jack, living in Richmond, BC before moving permanently in Pender Harbour, British Columbia — a place she deeply loved. Together they enjoyed life on the water, boating and exploring the BC coastline, and travelling extensively, including an unforgettable African safari. Their life was one of curiosity, partnership, and appreciation for the beauty around them.
Family memories from Pender Harbour include visits filled with simple joys: enjoying good food, conversation and cocktails on their patio overlooking the ocean. Swimming in nearby Garden Bay Lake, boat trips, and blackberry picking — moments that reflected her love of nature and the outdoors.
Lorraine was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Louise, whom she shared many adventures, special trips and cruises together. That bond remained a meaningful part of her life. After the passing of her husband, she later moved back to Richmond, where she reconnected with family through birthdays, outings and shared dinners.
She is survived by her 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and extended family, who will remember her as a kind, gentle, and gracious woman whose life spanned nearly a century of change, love, and resilience.
The family would like to thank Courtyard Gardens Long Term Care Home for their compassion and care.
A service will be held at Ocean View Funeral Home at 1 pm January 29, 2026.
Lorraine will be remembered with respect and gratitude for the life she lived and the quiet kindness she shared.
