Dear AnnaMaria, Michael & Alfredo

I only found out only yesterday that your beautiful Mom Lena had passed away. I think both Steve and I are still in shock.  
We first met your Mom & Dad when we moved to Connaught 33 years ago.  So many wonderful memories.  Lena was such a friendly, active person who people gravitated to. Her smile was infectious.  She always took the time to ask how our 3 children were and was sooo very proud of you 3.  Her grandchildren were such a special part of her life.  Lena welcomed us into her home on many occasions spoiling us with her cooking and her famous fig jam. Rain or shine Lena would be out running for hours, swimming at the pool or completely her 200 sit-ups  ~ her fitness routine was remarkable and kept the neighbourhood motivated.  Her garden was amazing and she taught me many things. We missed her when she moved to the Springs but continued to see her on our walks in Tsawwassen or when she hosted us at her home there.
Throughout the years she gave me a couple of Italian pieces that I cherish so much.  One of my favourites is an Italian vessel that I admire everyday in our living room.
Our lives were enriched by having Lena Galamini in it.

It was with great sadness that I read today of your sweet mother's passing. She was such an inspiration to behold, walking everywhere around our little town! I saw her in December walking up the big hill near her home! I remember first meeting her when she and Carlo came to the local bank where I worked. Such kind, gracious people. She will be missed in our community❤️

I will forever cherish my friendship with Lena. A beautiful lady, a kind soul and now an angel to watch over all of her beautiful family.

My deepest condolences and sympathies to Lena’s family. She was an inspiration to me. Her boundless energy, her fashion sense and her beautiful smile. She will be missed by all the ladies of Saint Monica Guild who were lucky to know her.

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Lena. I met her at Winskill 4 yrs ago.  We took similar classes together.  I always joked with her after swimming as she put on her makeup and would get all dressed up for our next yoga class.  She teased me about getting changed in 5 minutes (no makeup).  I would save her spot in yoga. 
We had many conversations in the sauna and hot tub about family, grandchildren and her travels. She was always smiling, kind and knew everyone.  I was inspired to be like her.  Fit and healthy at 85yrs. 
Today I look towards her spot in yoga and know she is still doing the splits in her new yoga class

I remember you from kitimat. You had a dog named pipi? Mr galamini would sing opera and the dog sang along or howled with him. I was only six. I am 59 now. My mom was Teresa marra. I came to delta once to visit you. My mom spoke about you and stories of kitimat, good ones. Bless your family!  Betty marra

To Lena’s Family,
I am so sad to hear that Lena has passed away. I saw her just before Christmas and she looked happy and healthy. Lena was my inspiration and model. Walking everywhere, doing classes and always with a smile. Whenever I was feeling lazy I would think of Lena and get going. I loved her spirit. I am sure losing your dear mother and grandmother is going to leave such a large void in your  lives . My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Always cheerful and  kind and very independent! Asked many times if lena would like a ride and the answer was No! Her walking kept her healthy and happy and was an inspiration to others! Talking to others in our Springs community she will be missed❤️

May the memory of your mother’s love sustain you.  Lena was a lovely person who was welcoming to all.
I met Lena at Winskill Fitness Centre. She was friendly and kind. On my first visit she introduced herself to me and we chatted about our lives.  We both had lived in Kitimat and so we reminisced about our time in Kitimat. 
Lena had a luncheon last Spring.  Her house was filled with women she had met at Winskill Fitness Centre and in her neighborhood.  Her hospitality and generosity were commendable. She drew people to her.
I miss her and hope to emulate her fitness and warmth. She was a loving remarkable woman.
I feel privileged to have met her.

Lena was an absolutely wonderful and sincere friend. She was a very inspiring and giving person who lived her life to the fullest. Whether Lena was glammed up , mastering  her daily 200 pushups or doing the splits in yoga class, she was unforgettable ! I loved her figs that she brought and the tour of her new house. She had a  formidable strength and determination we all admired. Deepest sympathies go to all her children and family. She will be missed.

Sending my sincere condolences to Lena’s family. She will be missed at the pool where she was a friend and inspiration to many.

I was  shocked and saddened to learn of  the sudden passing of Lena. I met her at Winskill many years ago. In exercising and yoga she was the model to follow. She generously shared her culture by hosting a gnocchi making party at her home. Often she brought in treasures from her garden. I still have the bay leaves she grew. At our annual summer gatherings, Lena rocked her outfits. Classy, feisty, generous, dedicated whether it be to her exercise routine, her garden or most of all her family.

Mom, you were the best mother-in-law a girl could ask for.  

I will cherish the things you taught me in such a short time and the time we spent together, from dinners to Vegas and Cirque de Soleil. 

The special moments that we had and spent together in the kitchen, the garden and going for walks.  I will miss your smile and your loving hugs. 

We shared the same stories of losing someone so young your mother and my mother both of us were only 21 years old, our favourite number 13, and our love for gardening and cooking.

You were a very special woman not just to me but to everyone. You touched the hearts of many and the memories of you will stay strong forever.
