Marcelia Ramos

27 abril, 1943 – 12 diciembre, 2025
Obituario de Marcelia Ramos
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Ocean View Funeral Home & Burial Park

Marcelia Suguitan Ramos, lovingly known as Mercy, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in Kamloops, British Columbia. She was born on April 27, 1943, in Piddig, Philippines, and lived a life filled with compassion, joy, and deep love for others.

Mercy moved to Canada in 1977 with her family and made her home in the Vancouver area and later in Kamloops, where she spent the rest of her life.

She dedicated her working life to caring for and uplifting others, serving as a care aide, activity aide, and teacher. True to her nature, her work reflected her generous spirit and nurturing heart.

Mercy had a deep love for music and adventure. She loved to dance, sing, and play the piano, and dancing truly fueled her soul. Her laughter and bright spirit filled every room she entered. She also had a passion for traveling and embraced the world with curiosity and joy. Her journeys took her throughout the Philippines, Australia, across Europe, including London, Germany, and Croatia, as well as to Hawaii and many places throughout the United States. Each place she visited became part of her story, just as she became unforgettable to the people she met.

Known as “Queen Mercy” to her dear friends and “Mercyful” by her sister-in-law Elizabeth, she truly lived up to those names; joyful, graceful, and full of life. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome and truly seen.

She is survived by her children Carmeliza Hurst, Nick Ramos, Lionel Ramos, and Cheryl Ramos (Abe); her grandchildren Ryan, Chloe, Tristan, and Gabe; as well as many extended family members and close friends who will miss her deeply.

A viewing will be held on January 2, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service on January 3 at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to follow at 2:00 p.m., all at Oceanview Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, British Columbia. A Celebration of Life will also be held in Kamloops in April 2026, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember her joyful spirit.

Mercy’s strength, kindness, and joyful heart will forever live on in the memories of all who were blessed to know her. Her love leaves a lasting legacy that will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind.
