Maria's Story
Maria Impera Catenacci (Morelli) peacefully passed away on January 17, 2026. She was born in 1937 in the province of Frosinone, Italy, to Onorio and Pasqualina Morelli. The youngest of two daughters, Maria studied to become an elementary school teacher before immigrating to Canada in 1955.
In 1958, Maria married her beloved husband, Remo. Together they shared many years filled with love and laughter until his passing in 1998.
Known for her strength, loyalty, and fiery temper that perfectly matched her prized red hair, Maria was truly a force to be reckoned with. Her love for her family was boundless and most evident in her devotion to her cherished children, Luigi and Vittorio, and her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandchildren, Anthony and Nadia and is lovingly remembered by her surviving grandchildren, Adam, Anthony, Trevor, and Cassandra.
Maria found immense joy in her kitchen and her garden, and her stories of the elaborate dinner dances of her youth never failed to bring a smile to her face.
The family is comforted knowing that Maria is now enjoying a long-awaited reunion with her treasured family members, laughing and dancing together once again.
