Michela Russo

With deep sadness and much love, we announce the passing of Michela Russo on August 12th, 2025. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, and dear friend. Michela will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Born on February 19, 1943, in Civitanova Del Sannio and immigrated to Canada in 1962 to marry her love of her life Antonio Russo, with who she shared 63 years of marriage.

Michela is survived by her loving husband, Antonio Russo, and their 4 children: Dolora (Frank), Tina [predeceased Carlo], Frankie, Dave (Jaymie). She is also remembered by her grandchildren Anthony (Mandy), Melissa (Chris), Daniel, Jessica, Nikolas, Marissa, Samantha, Michael, Antonio and great grandchild Emerson.

She is also survived by her siblings Joe (Nancy), and Emilio (Toni) and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Filomena and Domenico Pesa and siblings Maddalena (Giuseppe) and Filippo (Maria).

Our mother was our heart, had a beautiful smile and the love of cooking and a kind, boundless love and devotion to her family. Her spirit lives in our hearts and memories and in the guidance and teachings she gave us all.

The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the cancer clinic and staff at Burnaby General Hospital.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings St., Burnaby. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11am at St Helen's Parish, 3860 Triumph St, Burnaby. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Abbey Mausoleum.
