

Po Kee Lau, of Burnaby, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 27, 1934, in Zhongshan, Guangzhou, China, to Kam Fung Lau and Chong Lau. As a young teenager, Po Kee left Zhongshan for Hong Kong, where he worked on his family’s poultry farm. In 1966, he immigrated to Vancouver with hopes of building a better life for himself and his family. In Vancouver, he worked various jobs to support his family.
He is survived by his wife, Kam Ho; his sister, Julie (Allan); his daughters, Eileen and Judy (Alex); his sons, Robert (Zing) and Tommy; and his four grandchildren, Eliesse, Aaron, Julia, and Zachary. He is predeceased by his son, Banson, and by his four brothers, Po Jung, Po Wo, Po Tak, and Po Tin.
Po Kee will be remembered for his hard work in the kitchen and in the garden, where he poured his heart into every meal he cooked and every plant he nurtured. He will be deeply missed for his unwavering devotion to his family and his gentle, peaceful nature.
A viewing will take place on Monday, December 22, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park (3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC).
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park (3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC).
