She immigrated to Canada in 1957 and met her future husband Harry (Helmut) at a party on the ship as they crossed the Atlantic to Canada; they were married three months later in Toronto and spent their honeymoon driving across Canada to start their new lives in Vancouver.
Mom loved to sing. She sang to us at bedtime when we were growing up, was active in various choirs during her life, and is fondly remembered by all in her retirement home as the Singing Lady.
She is lovingly remembered as “Omi” by her sons Ed (Elaine) and Brian (Ronnie); granddaughters Sarah (Adam) and Nina (Aaron); grandsons Ryan (Katie), Derek (Katelyn) and Ethan (Bella); Great Grandchildren Eliza, Felix, Olivia, Teddy and Avril.
A celebration of Life will be held at Ocean View Funeral Home - Chapel Courtyard (Chapel) on December 30, 2025 at 11:00 am.
