Richard Wayne Hiebert

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Wayne Hiebert on December 30, at the age of 62. Rick was born on July 11, 1963, in Winkler, Manitoba, to Benjamin and Esther (née Schellenberg) Hiebert.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jacqueline (née Jamault); his daughter, Gabrielle; his parents, Benjamin and Esther Hiebert; his parents-in-law, Albert and Jeanne Jamault; and many cherished family members and friends.

Rick lived his life with enthusiasm and purpose, whether at work or at home. Always the first to engage, his infectious smile brought joy to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Rick was raised in the Christian faith and remained devoted throughout his life. He sought to live according to the teachings and wisdom of Christ, and his beliefs were reflected daily in his thoughts, words, and actions.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Howard Lim, Rick’s oncologist and all those who were involved in his care. We would also like to express our gratitude to the BC Cancer Agency for their professionalism and dedication.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Ocean View Funeral Home, Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rick’s honour to the BC Cancer Foundation or Pioneers Canada.
