On behalf of Anne, Alan, myself and the entire Chang family  we would like to acknowledge and thank you for all of your expressions of support, sympathy, and for spending your time with us to say goodbye at Robert's service.  I'm sure Robert would have been very happy to have seen such a strong showing of support over the past few weeks and at the service.

Dear Mr. Pei Ching Chang 
Your sudden past away has sharking to all of your high school classmates. Since you graduated from high school most of them have not met you again ( I am one of them) . Very lucky few have met you again during you visited Taiwan in 2010. However we are all remember your warm and kind hearts to deal with your classmates, always smiling face towards your friends. Your smiling fat face still and will always vividly keep in our deep memory. We all will missing you forever.

He was honest, straightforward, knowledgeable and inspiring. Looking back on all the good memories and smiles in the old days, he will be truly missed. May his soul rest in peace. I met your Dad the first time when I was working as a sales coordinator at MB's Canadian White Pine Sawmill in 1991.  I remember the occasion well as it was the first time the concept of custom cutting was explained to me.
Over the years I was fortunate enough to work with, socialize with, travel with and learn from your Dad. He was my guide on my first trip to Taiwan where he taught me of the local history, the culture and the business.
What a great memory I have.
Your Dad, Robert was awesome. I am very sorry to hear of his passing and will miss him.

Robert was such a loving, caring, and warm-hearted friend. Remember all those good times we spent together. He always tried his best to help and inspire.

Deep condolence to Anne, Roland, Alan and family. I first met Robert in 1987 and had the opportunity to visit China and Taiwan with him in 1992. Over the next 20 years, we visited those markets over 20 times together. I learned a lot from Robert. Trading lumber, dealing with claims, managing customer relationships, he was excellent at all of those things but I also learned about the culture of those markets and more importantly the history of the country.
Robert was one of a handful of businessman that were true pioneers in opening the Chinese log and lumber markets for Canada. He built the stage that we trade from today!
The market has matured but those early market trips were more of an adventure than a business trip and I couldn't have had a better guide.

Robert, you always been there for a great example of passion, positive and never give up. Your sprit will inspire us forever. You will be deeply missed from the longtime friends.

Robert Pei-Ching:, My love,  you be remembered  by all your family, friends and all forestry industry friends, I am proud of you, you're a good son, son-in law, father,  friends and the best husband to me. we been together for 53 years since the first day I met you in the park. I still remember blue-ness of the sky, and the fresh green grass and when you showed up with all your forestry university students on May 15, 1964.  Three years later we were married, and have two good sons. You were always so proud of Roland, how good his study, and How smart Alan is. You worked so hard for us, and gave us a good life, but never asked anything in return from us. We even didn't say thanks.  The love of a family is life's greatest, yes, you gave all your love to us.                                                                                                                    Robert, I am used to always having you around me and doing things together, your sudden loss has mad my life so empty, I don't know what to do these days without you, you tell me don't cry and be brave, I tried, but I am not good at this now. 
My love, you're knowledge in the forestry industry is  well-known,  and will be remembered.                                                                                                     Some day we will be meet again, I will be with you at same place . Good bye my love, I will carry on our business which we build up together, please rest in peace, my love, I miss you so much.

 both name is the same Pei-Ching Chang ,one is my elder brother, the other is my younger brother. But their life experience are quite different.  has an easy going personality.
His idea of life is enjoy while you can. He left the world without any thing behind.
 work so hard his entire life. He Leave so much behind so his family can enjoy. 
Over the past 40 years, I have been visit Vancouver over 50 more times, and visit almost every parts of BC. But regretfully, I can not remember any place that we spend together except restaurant.

My condolence to the family and friends.  I worked with Robert selling him logs for a few years when I worked at Island Timberlands until my retirement.  Robert was always the gentleman and I will never forget the smile he always had for me.

Thank you so much for being there for me… I am so proud to be your son.
You have shown me how to be imaginative yet practical; how to never give
up; and how to always try my best.

You showed us how to always try our best to care for everyone no matter
what – showing us how to build and cultivate relationships of all kinds
around us. To be unafraid to reach out, touch, and to truly care about
others in all manner of relations; from family, to friends and business
alike across multiple generations and groups; no matter the obstacles or
impediments. I think I finally understand -- your joy was in fact their
joy -- the joy of watching others be cared for and to succeed around you is
truly its own reward.

Alas, I wish we had had more time together to share and learn from each
other. Someday we’ll get together again and have one of those great family
dinners when we can rejoice in each other and everyone’s company till no
end with all the stories of life’s most fondly remembered moments. Until
then, I hope I have learned enough from you to grow up to be as strong and
resourceful as you were, and to be as brave and clear-minded as you were
when my time comes.

I will do my best to take care of Alan, Mom, and Eva’s family in your
absence, and of all the families that will become interconnected to us in
the years to come as we all grow up. I see the blank canvases of our
future in your beloved granddaughters -- Kaela and Kensie -- I can only
hope to be as strong and wise to them -- as you were to me -- and prepare
them to find their own joys in living -- and to appreciate the great
continuum of life as they too grow up.
