Rose is survived by her devoted husband and caregiver Eddy Cheng; her daughter Lisa Cheng and Lisa’s partner Patrick Jackson; her son Jordan Cheng and his wife Shirley Cheng; and her cherished granddaughter Leia Cheng. She is also remembered with love by her sisters Susan Leung and Lilian Louie.
Born and raised in Vancouver, and a graduate of Britannia Secondary School, Rose studied telecommunications at Langara College and built a long career with BC Tel.
Rose filled her life with simple joys. She travelled whenever she could, danced whenever she wanted, and somehow stayed lucky every time she stepped into a casino. Christmas was her favourite season, and she loved taking the family out to new restaurants before heading home to enjoy her favourite shows.
Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2018, Rose became a long time survivor who beat the odds; doctors said she might have only a few years, yet she shared nearly eight more with all who loved her. She faced every treatment at BC Cancer with quiet courage and the same warmth she shared at home. Her resilience inspired everyone who walked beside her.
A celebration of Rose’s life will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Burnaby British Columbia on Saturday July 26 2025 at 1 p.m. All who knew her are welcome. Flowers are gratefully accepted.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses and doctors at BC Cancer and Vancouver General Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness.
Rose’s gentle spirit, easy smile, and knack for finding joy in the every day will stay with us always.
