It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosina (Rosa) Iannantuoni on October 18, 2025. She was cherished and surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren in her final days and final moments and died peacefully.
Rosa was born in Castelnuovo della Daunia, Foggia, Italy on February 6, 1932. She and her mother moved to San Marco La Catola, her mother’s village, shortly after the tragic passing of her father. Rosa married Donato in 1954 and together they lovingly raised their four children. The family lived in Milan for several years and then immigrated to Canada in 1967, settling in Vancouver.
The quintessential Italian wife, mother and nonna, Rosa had unwavering and unconditional love for her family. She was a thoughtful, hardworking, independent woman who never seemed to sleep and always had food and advice at the ready. She was a devout Catholic and her faith reinforced her gratitude for life’s joyous moments while giving her the strength to face the inevitable heartaches.
Rosa was predeceased by her beloved husband Donato, her parents Antonietta and Vincenzo, mother-in-law Maria and father-in-law Giovanni. She will be sadly missed by her children Giovanni (Teresa), Maria Punzo (Giovanni), Vincenzo, Antonella Alves (Roger); her grandchildren Filomena (Dave), Rosanna (Enrique), Diana, Daniel V., Daniel A., Michael, Emily (Andrew), Melissa, Hailey (Gurkirat); and her great-grandchildren Kalia, Mikayla, Ariana, Daniela, Aiden, and Olivia. She is also survived by brother-in-law Fausto, sisters-in-law Antonietta and Lina, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Westminster House for their years of compassionate care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Good Shepherd Church, 2250 - 150th Street, Surrey, BC on Tuesday, November 4th at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held prior to mass (starting 10:00 a.m.). A private entombment will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
