Ruth passed away peacefully at Richmond Hospital after a short illness. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Harry Irving Howard (1986) and son, Harry Michael Howard (2009), sister, Kathleen Murray (1979) and brother, E.D. Ted Hadley (2005), she is survived by daughter, Catherine Howard (Gordon), brother, Pat Hadley (Dawn), stepdaughter, Barbara Gillanders (David), grandchildren, Molly (Paul), Katie (Mike), John Patrick and Nikki, and great-grandsons Kalen, Brendan and Colton. Elegant, eloquent, witty and kind, she had a lively interest in this world and was comforted by her faith in the next. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Ruth’s life and accomplishments will be held on Tuesday, March 29th, 2011 at 10am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2465 Crown Street, Vancouver, BC.
