Ryan is survived by his Mom and Dad, Mario and Lynda Conceicao. His sister Nicole and brother-in-law Brian Trann. His Uncle and Aunt, Tony and Grace Novak, Aunt Maria Conceicao, The light of his life, his dog Bailey –and many cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his beloved grandparents Marija and Rudolf Novak and Alice and Augusto Conceicao and Uncle Manual Conceicao. We are comforted that they were waiting with open arms to greet him.
Ryan loved to travel and in light of his life being cut short, we are grateful he got to see Europe and Hawaii with family in his early life. Ryan was proud when he achieved his inter-provincial pipefitter qualifications and enjoyed traveling throughout the province on many different industrial jobs.
While Ryan faced some serious mental health issues in his thirties, he never let it define him. He stayed positive and adjusted to a different life path with courage and strength. Ryan loved sixties music, reading, and family and friend time. He was always up for a lunch or coffee out. He loved Bailey, the beach and the apple of his eye was his new toddler cousin Gio who always left him smiling.
Ryan treated everyone as though they were friends. He never passed a person without saying hello. When he met someone struggling in their life he’d offer what he had, usually cigs or change. He talked to them, walked with them, and asked them about themselves. A lesson there I think.
We are immensely grateful to the ICU and CCU teams at Royal Columbian Hospital for their extraordinary efforts to save Ryan’s life. The support from his primary care team at Tri-City Mental Health including his family doctor and his team at Brentwood Pharmacy has also been exceptional and appreciated.
Until we meet again, rest in peace, dear son!
