March 29,1989 – February 05,2026
With deep love and heartfelt gratitude for her life, we share the passing of Shuohan (Canna) Huang on February 5, 2026, at Burnaby Hospital, at the age of 37.
Born in Sichuan, China, on March 29, 1989, Canna lived with courage, warmth, and quiet strength. She was independent and determined, yet deeply kind and generous. She had a gentle way of making people feel welcomed and valued. Her smile was comforting, her words were thoughtful, and her presence made others feel at home.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Tony Zou, her precious daughter Anya Zou, her mother Wanjun Yao, and many family members and friends whose lives were made brighter because of her.
After graduating from high school in China, Canna bravely came to Vancouver on her own to study business. It was there that she met the man who would become her husband and best friend. Together, they built a life in Burnaby and created a home filled with love and laughter. Canna embraced family life with her whole heart. She discovered a passion for cooking and found joy in caring for the people she loved. She often laughed that no dish ever turned out exactly the same way twice. A reflection of her creativity and spirited personality.
Above all, Canna was an extraordinary mother. Anya was her greatest joy and the center of her world. She offered endless encouragement, gentle guidance, and unwavering belief. Her love was constant and unconditional.
Canna also built a meaningful career as an Investment Customer Service Manager at National Bank. She worked with dedication and integrity, always putting people first. Her colleagues became like family, and she was deeply grateful for the love and support she felt from her team.
A memorial service will be held on March 10 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby. A reception will follow to celebrate her life and share memories together.
For those who wish to express their condolences, flowers are welcome. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation in Canna’s memory to support cancer research and patient care. https://bccancerfoundation.com/
Canna’s love will continue to guide and surround us. Though her time with us was far too short, the warmth she gave and the light she carried will remain in our hearts forever.
