Suey Kim Dang

She left us while sleeping peacefully at Vancouver Hospice on August 10, 2024. She was in her 97th year.

Born in Guangzhou China, she married her husband, Mon Chat in 1948 and immigrated to Canada in 1951, settling in Vancouver.

She was the beloved Mother of Michael (Cathie), Barry (Jeanne), Diana (Jerry), Eleanor (Gordon), Anita, Kenneth; Much loved Grandmother to Kimberly (Noel), Kaitlyn (Tim), Richard, Zachary (Danielle), Robert, Tessa (Connor), Jacklyn, Chris, Kelsey (Jerome); Cherished Great Grandmother – Bak Bak to Nathaniel, Elise, Hana, Noah, Nikko, Zoe, Kai and Mia.

Suey Kim lived a full life as a wonderful Mother and homemaker. She loved to cook, making delicious soups and dumplings, enjoyed sewing, knitting and mah jong. Her favourite pastime included countless walking / hiking /public transit adventures with many friends and neighbors. Gardening was also a passion.

Most of all, she was well loved and LOVED her family.

A celebration of life will be held at The Chapel at Oceanview Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC on Thursday, August 22, 2024 starting at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Suey Kim Dang to the Vancouver Hospice Society.
