Teresa Pichichero

Our Mother Teresa passed away peacefully on December 8, 2021. Born on 13 Jan 1929 in Sannicandro di Bari, Region of Puglia, Italy. She was the eldest daughter with 5 siblings to Rosa Novielli and Filippo Marziliano. She journeyed to Canada with her 2 young sons in 1952 to join her husband Lorenzo in Pickle Crow Ontario. Mum loved to cook, bake, garden, socialize and make large dinners for family and friends. With her ongoing generosity and hospitality, she enjoyed helping her friends and family with baking and cooking tutorials. Teresa was widowed tragically at age 34. Mum was very strong and determined and raised 5 children on her own, working hard at various jobs. Her sense of adventure took her to many places. She made many trips back to Italy to visit her family over the years on her own and sometimes with other family. Her sojourns included trips to Toronto, New York, California, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Yellowknife, Caribbean Cruise and she managed to work in a pilgrimage to Lourdes. She is loved by many and will be missed dearly. She is survived by her children: Mike (Gail), Maria (Bruce), Jack (Brenda), Rosa (Jouko); her Grandchildren: Kevin, Kyle, Lauren (Nicolas), Aaron; Her Brother Giuseppe (Bella), Nicola (Lina), and sister Angela. Predeceased by her Husband Lorenzo in 1964 and her son Phil (Filippo) in 1982, her sister Antonia and Brother Giacomo

We are grateful to the Madison Care Centre for taking excellent care of mum for the last 4 years. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of B.C. A funeral mass will be held at St. Helen's Parish in Burnaby on December 21st at 11:00 am, followed by entombment at Ocean View
