Ting Shan was born in Tai Shan, China and moved to Hong Kong with his family when he was 11 years old. Eventually, he decided to immigrate to Canada, where he lived and ran his restaurants in Saskatchewan and British Columbia before retiring in 2018.
Ting Shan is survived by his wife, Isabella, his three daughters, Louise, Celia, and Katherine, and their spouses, as well as seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his younger sister, En. He was predeceased by his parents and his younger brother, Donio.
Aside from his steadfast commitment to his restaurant life, Ting Shan's love and dedication to his family was even more unwavering and strong. After retirement, he was able to spend lots of quality time with his grandchildren, all of whom will greatly miss their beloved Gong Gong.
Ting Shan's family will host a funeral service on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 10:00 am. The service will be held at Ocean View Funeral Home in Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation, or the Salvation Army Rotary Hospice House (in Richmond, BC) as they played a big part of caring for Ting Shan Wong during the last and this past year.
