Ugo will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Flora Lilia, devoted sons, Luigi (Laura) and Marc, and by his cherished grandchildren: Bianca (Francesco), Luca (Julia), Dante, Gabriella, and Adam. He is also survived by his brother Rino (Linda), nieces and nephews, and extended family in both Canada and Italy.
Born on June 21, 1934, in Taglio di Po, Rovigo, Italy, Ugo brought with him a deep sense of his Italian heritage, pride, resilience, and love for family that defined his life.
From a young age, Ugo understood the value of hard work. Throughout his life, he took pride in every role he held. He worked as a skilled draftsman, a proud hardware store owner, and later, a successful realtor. But above all, his most treasured role was being Nonno to his five grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
Ugo was a man of integrity, with a strong work ethic and a generous heart. He had a deep appreciation for the simple things - especially his garden, where he found peace and purpose. His legacy will live on through the stories he shared, and through the love, humility, and dedication he showed - qualities that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Parish, 6350 Nanaimo Street, Vancouver, on Wednesday, October 15 at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please honour Ugo by planting something in your garden or spending time with those you love - just as he always did.
