Wei Kwong Wong

It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Wei Kwong Wong, at the age of 93. He was born in Toishan, China, on September 29, 1931. Wei Kwong immigrated to Canada and settled in Port Alberni, BC, in January 1950. Predeceased by his grandfather, first wife, father, mother, and sister. Survived by his second wife, seven children and their spouses, and nine grandchildren.

Wei Kwong dedicated his working life to operating his cafe and then his restaurant. Upon retirement in 1991, he moved to Vancouver, BC, to be closer to his family. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, crabbing, travelling, and socializing with his longtime friends.

He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Villa Cathay Care Home for their patient, kind and compassionate care over the last three years. Staff would always serve him second helpings of his favourite dishes.
