Yim Sheung Wong (黃李艷嫦) passed away on January 13, 2017 aged 82 in Vancouver, BC. Yim was born in Zhou Cun in Guangdong province, China, (中國廣東省南海縣洲村) to Wai Kam Li (李維錦) and Lai Zan Ng (吳麗珍) on October 2, 1934. She moved to Hong Kong as a teen where she eventually met and married Jiu Hon (John) Wong (黃昭漢) in 1956. The couple welcomed sons Peter Wong and Ronin Wong. In 1971, the family immigrated to Ottawa before ultimately settling in Vancouver.
Yim lived an active lifestyle going swimming regularly and practicing Tai Chi. She enjoyed getting creative, trying her hand at decorating ceramics, Chinese calligraphy, designing her own clothing and knitting. She also loved to travel, especially with her family, visiting cities near and far.
Please join the family at Ocean View Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 24 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm for visitation and on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm for the funeral service. Burial to follow at Ocean View Burial Park.
