I'm so sorry to hear of Bobby's loss. I remember him as a sweet kid who was a member of my "second family". He had a great sense of humor and I never saw him get mad at anything or anybody- a lot like his dad.

He always called me Miss. Margaret when he came to set markers in Oakwood Cemetery, Waco Tx.  I will truley miss that beautiful smile of his. There is only one Bobby, rest in peace friend.

My condolences to the family of Bobby.  He was always a welcome sight at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks, always smiling, happy and genuine. We were blessed to know Bobby and his memory will live on.

It's been some years since I have seen Uncle Bobby. But I have many,many fond memories of him when we visited for Easter and during summer vacations. I am thinking of my aunts and uncles and BJ prayfully during this time. Love always, Rita and Brea Rodriguez

Uncle Bobby, just last Saturday, I thought to myself, I needed to send you an email with some of our pictures, little did I know you would leave us so suddenly. Now, I wish I had taken just 10 min. to send you my love uncle. I still have the old pictures you sent me on my last vist with dad, though I will never delete your emails or address. May you be with all the love of our passed family as they open their arms to you. I will miss you and may you rest at peace.

I remember the last time Bobby came by to pick up a VA marker, I was hiding behind the door with a blade ready to scalp my native american buddy...  Of course, he had spotted me way before I had a chance to sneak up on him.  Some skills a white boy will never aquire or be able to compete with...  I'm gonna miss hanging out at the cemetery and listening to all the un-ending, hilarious jokes he managed to tell until the the job was complete...  He used to harrass me all the time about asking him for little favors like leveling one of our clients monuments, but after cleverly talking me outta a few extra bucks, he never hesitated to go the extra mile.  Myself and the staff at the Elgin Funeral Home are gonna miss him dearly.  Our prayers and thoughts are with his son, the entire Vasquez family, and the Dietz Family.  He will be dearly missed and his legacy will live on and be revered everytime I walk into a cemetery.  Rest in peace Speedy!

What a shock to receive an email from Steve Gilbert of Dietz Memorial in Austin that Bobby passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning. Bobby was the craftsman who completed engravings on the City of Lakeway Spirit of Freedom veterans monument since 2005. He literally memorialized our veterans, those living and those who have passed, for eternity. While we only visited once each year as he skillfully used the tools of his trade, I can truthfully say that he was one of the most cheerful and fun-loving gentlemen I have known over the years. We will miss his smile and his laughter, and know that he must have brought joy to his family as well.

Uncle Bobby and I sat down one day and talked about classic rock bands. He was amazed at the knowledge and collection of bands I had since many were his favorites when he was young. Rest in Peace Uncle Bobby. I will miss you.
