

Charlie is survived by his children, Charles Calhoun and wife Marcy of Luling, John Christofer Calhoun of Burnet, Thersa Mcdonald and husband Tim of Leander, Shane Calhoun and wife Stephanie of Fredericksburg. Charlie had 17 grandchildren: Adriene, Megan, Taylor, Autumn, Bryce, Christopher, Jesse, Leroy, David, James, Tyler, Shannon, Courtney, Michael, Logan, Leslie, and April. He also had many great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Terry Calhoun, Linda Jackson, Nora Popejoy, and Brenda Alman. He loved his family with all his heart!
Charlie was preceded in death by first wife, Bobby Klaus, second wife, Dannette Calhoun, his father, Charles Clifton Calhoun, mother Opal Simpson, grandparents, John B. Pruett, Nora Pruett, Christopher Columbus Calhoun, Georgia Calhoun, brothers, Ronnie Calhoun, John Calhoun, and sister, Sandra Calhoun.
Charlie served his country in the Army after being drafted to serve in the Vietnam War. He was a proud Veteran and received a National defense service medal, Vietnam service medal with two bronze stars, plus a few others. He was a heavy equipment operator and a proud Trapper. Charlie was well known for his abilities. He was also an extra in a cowboy movie. He was and always will be a movie star in our eyes.
Services will be held Friday, June 14th at 10am at Clements Wilcox Funeral home in Burnet, Texas. Graveside service will follow at Burnet City cemetery, including his Military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his daughter, Thersa McDonald at P.O. Box 824 Leander, Texas 78646.
