

Charles Preston “Charlie” Woods, 57 died Tuesday, January 18, 2011. He was born December 3, 1953, in Burnet to E.P. (Sonny) and Geneva (Withers) Woods. He was a lifelong resident of Burnet and 1972 graduate of Burnet High School.
Charlie was self-employed as a contractor in the Burnet area for many years. He was also was employed by several local contactors. Since the early 1990’s he had managed the family ranch and businesses. Charlie enjoyed life. He loved hunting and fishing and all things in the outdoors. He loved his family and friends and being with both.
Charlie is survived by his wife Teresa, son Ian Reid Woods, and daughter Amy Lois Woods, all of Burnet. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Karen and Dan Stubblefield of Burnet, his mother Geneva Woods of Burnet, brothers-in-law Kerry and Crissi Reid of Bertram, and Mitch and Tiffany Sonnier of League City, and brother-in-law Larry Sonnier of Orange; sister-in-law and husband Pam and Homer Will of Bertram, mother-in-law Lois Smith of Orange and father-in-law Danny Reid of Burnet. He is also survived by nine nephews and one niece, uncle Alvin Woods and wife Pat of San Antonio, aunt Phyllis Taylor and husband Leonard of Llano and aunt Pat Withers of Burnet. He is also survived by an incredible number of friends who will miss him also. Charlie was preceded in death by his father Sonny Woods in 2008.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet with Reverend Dr. Ricky Guenther officiating. Burial will follow at the Burnet City Cemetery. Those named as pallbearers were Kevin Churchwell, Garry Montgomery, Richard Riggs, Dudley Hall, Sonny Withers, and Michael Ringstaff. Honorary pallbearers named were Mitchell Sonnier, Kerry Reid, Homer Will, Dan Stubblefield, Donald Fawcett, B. Ringstaff, Bryan Milliorn, Tommy Puryear, and Wayne Castleberry.
