
Cody Shay Shelton, 39, of Burnet, passed away unexpectedly March 31, 2012. He was born in Lubbock, on October 5, 1972 to Larry Joe and Jan Shelton, of Burnet. He attended Burnet High School (Class of 1991) which was followed by a career in home building.
Cody Shay loved all aspects of the outdoors, was an avid Indian arrowhead hunter and artifact collector. He was a poetic mystic, and an innovative creator that took tinkering with things to new levels. Cody's love for his wife, three beautiful children, family and friends was intense, unconditional and everlasting . He was a loyal and best friend to many and will be missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
Cody is survived by his wife of 15 years, Christie Holleman; Sons, Justin, 8, and Levi, 14 months; Daughter, Anne Renee "Rainie", 19, (all of Burnet) and Rainie's Mother, Becky Bishop Sandoval, of Aztec, New Mexico; Mother, Jan Shelton; Brother, Jeff Shelton; Sister, Timi Shelton and Grandmother, Billie Lawson, all of Burnet; as well as many more family and friends. He was preceded in death by his Father, Larry Joe Shelton, and Grandfather, Paul Lawson, both of Burnet. Graveside services were Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dobyyville Cemetery. Clements - Wilcox Funeral Home, in Burnet in charge of arrangements.
