She loved to make quilts and sold them out of state. She also made jam and dill pickles which were loved by everyone. Irene was the first employee of the Bertram nursing home where she worked for a good many years.
Survivors are her son Mike Womack and wife Janice of Austin, Daughter Susie Ringstaff of Burnet, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by husband Alfred Wommack, Daughter Billie Posey, Son- in- law Clinton Ringstaff and her brother and sisters.
Graveside service will be held at MT. Zion Cemetery Saturday December 30, 2017 at 2 pm officiated by Darrell Debo. Grandsons were named as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bertram American Legion.
