

Jerry Vaughn Graves age 79 passed away April 27, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 27, 1935, in Burnet to Acy Graves and Iris Debo Graves. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Burnet and a barber. He married Mary Lee Smith in Burnet on November 28, 1964. He joined Hullum’s Barber shop July 19, 1954, where he worked for over 50 years.
For many years Jerry umpired little league baseball and refereed flag football. For countless years he blew the noon fire whistle. He donated and helped build the scout building on Tate Street. He loved to take his family hunting, fishing, and camping. After his retirement he spent time ranching and farming.
Jerry is survived by his wife Mary Lee, sons Randy Meeks, Ricky Meeks, and Kenny Lentz all of Burnet. Also surviving is a brother Don Graves of Marble Falls and sister Agnes Pare of Burnet and by 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A graveside service for family friends will be held Tuesday morning May 5 at 11 at the Burnet City Cemetery officiated by minister Tim Denton.
