A man of many talents was Jim. I had the pleasure to work with him as a free-lance copywriter, helping him create ads and brochures on everything from barbeque joints to forklifts to his grandfather's book of cowboy poetry. Best of all was sitting around after the work was completed and listening to his many and funny stories of his advertising business and his music career, playing with some of Texas' best musicians. I include him in that legendary group.

Gail...I regret that I was unable to come up to see you & Jim again as I always enjoyed both of you so much...Jim was a wonderful person and if anybody made it up to Heaven...Jim did...Bless his heart...his suffering is now over and he is once again reunited with family and friends that passed on before him (like Bobby Miears) and I know that some day I will see him again...always remember that Jim is still with you because now you carry him "in your heart"...may the good Lord watch over you and your family as you go through this difficult time...keep the faith and God bless you all.

Gail I didn't know Jim that well but remember you talking about him so much. Just think how he greeted God and the Angels above! Reading these few online memories about earlier times help cement in my mind how important Jim was to a particular time and space of music--and will always be.

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I know if you and I hadn't met through CDXVIIC we would through our mutual love of music.

You and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I light a virtual candle just to keep Jims music going longer for all of us. With much love--Carrie, Greg, Meghan and Ian Richardson
