Joe Blas Sosa was born on March 16, 1949, in Haskell. He passed away August 27, 2021, at the age of 72. He attended Munday High School and was later drafted in to U.S. Army on February 10, 1969. He was a part of the 5th Battalion Air Defense Artillery.
Joe married the love of his life Nora (Figueroa) Sosa and they were married for 49 years. He retired from Lone Star Paving after working for them for 25 years. Joe enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Tony and Elizabeth of Jarrell and grandchildren Marcus, Tony Jr., Elija and Marissa Sosa and great grandson Javi. Joe also is survived by 4 sisters, 1 brother and many nieces, nephews, and God children. He was preceded in death by his wife Nora and Son Danny.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, September 2 from 6- 7 PM with Rosary at 7 PM at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. The funeral Mass and service will be held on Friday, September 3 at 2 PM at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Burnet. Interment with military honors will follow at Post Mountain Cemetery.
