

LaVera Hyman Cearley, age 71 of Burnet, Texas died at home on April 5, 2011. She was born August 8, 1939 to Lewis and Opal (Taylor) Hyman. LaVera was a retired beautician and enjoyed traveling with her husband Vic. They were married on August 17, 1974 in Burnet. She liked to crochet, knit, and loved spending time with her family and friends.
LaVera was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Opal Hyman, two brothers, Douglas Lewis and William Lee Hyman, her daughter, Theressa Allen Perkins and two grandchildren, Casondra Schwalm and Lewis Allen.
Survivors include her husband Charles Victor “Vic” Cearley, two sons, Gary Allen and wife Cheryl of Bertram, Kenneth Allen and wife Lori of Burnet, and one daughter Ann Cox and husband Jesse of Brady. LaVera is also survived by and brother Hubert Hyman and wife Dorothy of Liberty Hill, and two sisters Maxciene Hyman Veronie of Burnet Sharon Hyman Montgomery and husband Charles of Florence. LaVera was most proud of her six granddaughters, six grandsons, two great granddaughters and five great grandsons. She also had numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and funeral on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:00 am with Reverend Doug Fowler officiating. Burial followed at the Burnet City Cemetery. Pallbearers named were Tyler Montgomery, Tristen Montgomery, Doug Montgomery, DeWayne Montgomery, Kenneth Allen, Jr., and Shane Allen. Honorary pallbearers named were Wesley Perkins, Jessie Perkins, Lou Bell, and Larry Christopher Holcomb. Memorial contributions in memory of LaVera may be made to the American Cancer Society or Seton Highland Lakes Hospice.
