Marvin Bernard Anderson

It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the passing of Marvin Bernard Anderson, who died peacefully at home on January 25, 2016 after a brief illness. Marvin was born to Eric and Margaret Anderson in Galveston on January 18, 1933. He married his high school sweetheart, Ann Nell Thomas, on September 21, 1951. Marvin was a District Sales Manager for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway and retired in 1988 after 38 years of dedicated service. Upon retirement, he and Ann moved to Lake Buchanan. He was a long-time member of Khiva Shrine Club of Lubbock and served as Provost State Marshal in 1986. He was long-time, dedicated member of the Yellow House #841 A.F. & A.M. in Lubbock and was a dedicated member of the Valley Lodge #175 A.F. & A.M. of Texas in Burnet, where he received his 60 year pin in 2015.

He was later married to Willie Jo Woods Hunter of Burnet on November 30, 1996. They lived for 19 years in the Bonanza Beach community at Lake Buchanan.

Marvin is predeceased by his parents and his wife, Ann Anderson. He is survived by his wife Willie Jo, children David Anderson (Mickey) of Lubbock, Tx; Denise Hood (Dennis) of Lubbock, Tx; Carol Jarratt (David) of Austin, Tx; Lanette Cypert (Bob) of Lubbock, Tx and Dana Anderson of Dallas Tx. He is also survived by his step-children, Debbie Borsos of Arkansas; Randy Chafin (Teresa) of Burnet; and Les Hunter (Angela) of Richmond. He was a loving grandfather to 16 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren. He will be remembered with love and missed dearly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29th from 6 to 8 pm at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet and the funeral service will be held at Victory Baptist Church in Burnet. Interment with Masonic burial service will be at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to East Lake Buchanan Fire Department or Victory Baptist Church.
