Matthew was caring man, a friend, and somebody who could fabricate anything. He made and gave me this wood photo after he found out I was very sick and it traveled with us during treatments. It is now kept in my office to be seen each day. His warmth, great sense of humor, and generosity will always be remembered.

Matt is one of my 1st cousins. Growing up he stayed with us in Ohio for a brief time during a summer. He lit up that summer with fun! I can remember my brother Kris and I fighting over who would get to sit by Matt.! He turned it into some kind of funny game. As we grew up, Matt was someone we all looked forward to seeing when he would come up from Texas to visit his Ohio family. He was a warm and caring soul and I will always remember him that way. May his bright spirit inspire all of us that were blessed to have known him.

The footprint you left in our lives, the legacy you left behind. Everywhere we look a part of you is there. We can still hear your conversations about stacking dimes & fixing cars. We will  forever remember our children babysitting yours and  hearing  you talk to them  about music and playing guitar on my front porch. You’ve been a best friend. Always so giving and always at your service. Matthew Morgan was there to save the day and make it happen. Matt you were a dreamer, a creator and  a doer! I met Matt through our mutual friend Ali. From the get go Matt was a friend. He had more character than most. I never heard him say anything bad about anyone. Matt made stickers and shirts for our club with such artistic intent.  We would give him idea and somehow he came back with something so much more than what we asked. I am a better man for having him in my life the short time I did.I am grateful his family shared him with us.  Peace to you brother. 

Matt was one of the first people I met when joining NI. He was so soft spoken and had this calming effect that made it easy and comfortable to talk to him. He would talk about his wife Kelly with such a love and sparkle in his eye. I remembering thinking “wow” you don’t find many men who openly express their affection for their spouse in random, new co-worker side conversation very often. I was so excited to not only meet Kelly, but to witness the love these two had in person. It was magical seeing true once and a lifetime soulmates. Matt loved Kelly big and then came children; I saw Matt’s love grow even bigger. One of my fondest memories is the day Kelly got released from the hospital after having Avery. Poor Kelly was tired and you could tell she was ready to go home. However, Matt was a proud father and in true Lion King fashion he first brought his family up to work to show us all his new son, Avery. Matt, you were an amazing human and although we have not spoken for a few years you will be greatly missed. Peace and love!

Matt, where’d you go? You were an institution, always going to be around. Someone I’d bump into at a car show or you and Kelly in downtown Burnet. Thinking about you back over 30 years brings so many memories back to the surface. Riding around in the green Valiant with those elegant Taco Bell lightning bolt stickers, skateboarding, shop-class, tin-roof apartments, the band in my parents living room, loitering at Jim’s or watching you progress through phases of Robert Smith to kicker and back to just, well, Matt. Everyone you met was a friend and you were a gateway to a whole other cast of characters in what I would consider some of my most formative years. Thank you Matt! My heart goes out to you, Kelly, your family and all those who had the privilege of meeting and knowing you.

I miss ya bud! I will never forget how you and your family welcomed me and my wife to the neighborhood with open arms. From the random walks across the street to chat, to the hours of brainstorming business ideas, to our love of all things mechanical, you’ll never be forgotten. Your friendship will always be special to me and your family will always be welcome in our home and our lives. 

I met Matt in high school. We shared the same hatred of Westwood. He was one of the few friends I had that both my parents approved of. I remember when I saw him for the first time after I moved back to the area. We picked up right where we left off, just with kids and spouses and adult responsibilities. He was still the same Matt. Caring, funny and always willing to help anyone. I was so blessed to be able to call him my friend. He loved Kelly and Avery and Parker with everything he had. Losing him has created a void in everyone's lives who knew him. We're all going to miss him terribly. 

I met Matt working at NI. I was lucky enough to get to sit next to him. Every day was filled with cut-ups, filthy language and pain inducing laughter. One of my favorite laughing seizures was when Matt pulled up a post of the worst album covers ever. By the time we got to “The Handless Organist, Truly a miracle of God”, Matt could barely spit out the words, “You should hear her version of In-a-gadda-da-vida.” We laughed so hard, someone farted, I won’t say who, but I will always think of that day and smile.  It was worth all the dirty looks we got from the people that didn’t get our Pod 6 jokes. I’m honored to have known him. What a unicorn he was! 

He and his family were one of my first friends I made when I moved to Texas. They took this California girl in and made her feel like family. They tried to teach me the Texan ways while teasing me pretty much the entire time (which I enjoyed as well). Matt had the biggest heart. He never knew a stranger. Every person he met was a friend and he let you know that. He was always there when I needed him whether it was to fix something or just listen to me complain. More than anything, I loved him for loving one of my dearest friends, Kelly. He loved her unconditionally, showed his admiration and affection for her daily.

He was one of my first friends at work. I had so much fun cutting up with that dude in the original Pod6. Even after he left NI he would randomly show up at my desk with a big grin and say “What up French fry, my names Matt and I can count to potato” 😝 I will always remember him, such a blessing to have known him.

A dear friend to many. He carried his heart on his sleeve. I never heard him say a single negative word. Always looking on the brighter side of things and kept moving forward with pure determination and grit. A husband to a wife that shares the same character and demeanor. Father of two and a role model to masses.

Matt made such a big deal out of saying good morning to me every day I walked in to work...i miss his face! So sad to say goodbye, so happy to see you in a wondrous, magnificent, better place than this.. enjoy, and totally be what is beyond my friend!

Dear Matthew Morgan, I love you, you will always be one of my best friends. Your smile, laugh and kindness will be missed. Thank you for allowing me to be your friend, you have a special place in my heart and I will never forget you.

Matt was one of the best dudes I was fortunate enough to call him a friend.

Matt is so special to so many of us and could never be replaced. He has one of the most precious soul's. I've known him for over 30 years and the memories are some of my favorites. He always tried to bring joy to everyone around him. He always looked after the weak and made all feel appreciated. He had the biggest heart and imagination. The jokes that would make your stomach hurt are the greatest and he had them in spades. I'm going to miss my friend but I know I'll see him again some day.

Matthew built a cat plate for me. He offered to come down to south Austin to install it for me. I was in your area so popped in to meet him and get it installed. He was a wonderful stand up man. Took pride in his work and will definitely be missed but not forgotten.

He treated me like a little brother from the day we met him when our dad got a new job in Round Rock, Texas . Jack Morris II my older brother and I move to a new city and didn’t know any one and Matt was one of the first people we met . And he immediately treated us as family . You will always be missed brother. Ill miss our late night chats cause i couldn't sleep and you worked at night. You were the best friend anyone could have ever asked for. Just the salt of the earth. Till we meet again

I was looking forward to us talking more about trucks, coffins, Halloween, our love for it, your projects, the daily life, rants and raves. I'll look forward to seeing you again my brother and I will take pride in that I, amongst several, will have a piece of you with me everyday I'm in my truck. I'm thankful and blessed for the time I got with you. I'm at such a loss for words. I love you brother and until Valhalla.

If you didn't know him, I didn't take long to know him. He didn't know any strangers because no one was a stranger to him. If you found yourself somewhere that Matt was, well then you were in the right place to be. I found laughter every time I was in his presence. Infectious laughter was his secret weapon. He was one of the first super heroes I ever met.
We were supposed to grow old and buy R.V.s and travel the U.S. with C.B radios. Wives in tow and checking off items on the bucket list.

A husband, father, and friend left this world Thursday.  My old friend Matthew Morgan lost his fight against the virus we all continue to battle. I have found it tough to put into words and share what he means to me.  He was a bit larger than life and a joy to work with in the world of EMS.   He was a compassionate member of our community helping those in need.  
He was a character for sure.   His random posts that I call Matt-isms have always made me laugh.  There was one I have been searching for these past two days.  Probably one of the first FB posts I ever saw from him after joining years ago.  It read 
“There are three kinds of people in the world, those who can count and those who can’t”.  
That is short, simple and all Matt.   I laughed so hard my side hurt and I nearly peed.   Matt made us all happier, better and stronger humans.  I have so much more to tell you about him but he was special to so many people. 
It’s ok for us to be selfish, that we want him back for Kelly , Avery and Parker.  We want him back for us.  He made this world better for us.  Now we have to do our best to make it better in his absence.  Each of us alone can’t.  But together in person or in spirit we can try. 
To pay homage to my friend, his family and my favorite Matt-ism.  “There are two kinds of people, those who loved Matt and those who hadn’t met him yet”. 
We love you so much, we are going to miss the ¿!%#$&! out of you.

...Our boys started their lives knowing Matthew and Kelly's kids through a home daycare. We spent a few birthday parties and play dates together and they honestly were one of the coolest families we ever knew!

He was so kind, and down to earth. When he would drop things off, we would talk for probably an hour about things. Designs, life, whatever. He was always doing freebie stuff for us to see what our thoughts were and how he could improve. I felt bad sometimes because he was looking for feedback and the only feedback I could give was "Wow! This is awesome. I love it." He was very talented and became more than a vendor for us. He was a great friend and I am grateful that Ali introduced us and that we all got to know him.

I met Matt in 2014 when he responded to a Craigslist ad for something I was selling, and we instantly became friends.  Matt is one of the most creative and talented designers and fabricators.  But more importantly, he was a great family man to his wife, kids, and the rest of his family.  He often did his design work after midnight to ensure he spends quality time with his family.  Sometimes, he would send me proofs of new artwork concepts and asks for input.  It was only 2 or 3 months ago that he was telling me about his plans to expand his business and taking it to the next level.  Lots of people in central Texas are coping with the loss of Matt. 

We loved him. The wood photo he made for us got us through a very difficult time and is something I will always remember.

He was a great husband, father and friend.

Matthew is truly one of my favorite people I’ve ever known. Rest easy my friend.

I have memories that go back over 30 years of Matt and all of them have always brought a smile to my heart. There will never be another MMM, He was beyond one of a kind.

I met him working at NOV. He’s an awesome guy! I was so excited for him to do his own thing again and start to have it booming. 

He was such a great guy, I always enjoyed talking with him.

I met Matthew briefly when I bought my cat protector. We stayed in touch and discussed trucks and BBQ. This world lost a good man!

I had the pleasure of meeting Matt through Jills Brother Mike Mathias. We were looking for someone to build our 16’x24’ deck and Mike said oh I got the guy!! Well we got to spend about 4 days with Matt while he built our beautiful deck!! Every time I look at the deck I remember the jokes and one liners!! We would see him at car shows and he was always smiling! He will be missed RIP brother!!

Matt was on the kindest friends I have ever had.  I have fond memories of our many get togethers  playing  poker or just hanging out. Matthew and Kelly opened their home to me and many of our crazy friends for my wedding and Matt smoked the most amazing briskets. Matt had a love for life but most importantly he loved his family with all of his heart. When I think about a perfect match it was alway Matt and Kelly. Rest easy my friend. We love you!

I am a Christmas decorator like Kelly is Halloween.  I get a bit ridiculous and take my decorations seriously. 

Those cheap metal signs you get from the stores, they don't come with a method of getting them in hard ground.  You don't push stakes in the ground on my property - it's rock. 

Kelly told Matt about my dilemma, he took my sign, added a crossbar so I could use my feet or a hammer to get in the ground, wouldn't even take payment.  Just fixed it.  Matt was a very kind soul.   
 

I've known Matt for 25+ yrs.  My last memory of him is when Matt and I spent an evening at my mom and dads house putting together some outdoor furniture for my mom after my dad passed.  He was such a kind and helpful guy.  He and my dad spent a lot of hours working on cars and he always said how much he loved listening to dads stories. Your family is in my families thoughts, big guy. 

When Matt was born I told Grandma Clay he looked like a monkey and believe me that didn't go over well with her! That little monkey soon stole my heart. For birthdays, Christmas or just because I would shop for just the right Match Box cars. He absolutely loved them. When they moved to Texas he would come home in the summer and call me as soon as he got here to find out when I was picking him up to come visit. I loved spending time with him. As he got older, years would pass without seeing him but it seemed  like no time had passed at all when I did. We would spend time talking, laughing,  listening to him play his  guitar or just sitting quietly being together. He would call or text me out of the blue to say "I love you" or "I miss you". He so loved family. Matt was the most loving, giving, caring person I've ever known. He never judged anyone. I love him more than than I can put into words.  My love to you all,  Aunt Lori

Matthew Morgan was my go-to guy for everything.  He was one of the finest men to ever walk the planet. 

Problem with a guitar, problem with your car, an issue with the washing machine, holla at Old Man Morgan. My dude was brilliant with anything. 

He taught me you can put a guitar together for a few hundred bucks that will sound better and play better than dudes spending thousands on hand-built guitars or name brands. We put together a Tele I gig'd with forever and every other guitar player would always ask me what up with your guitar? Not really the player but the guitar sounds amazing! HA! That was all Old Man Morgans doing. 

He showed me so much. I've not even seen him in a few years because of distance but we always kept up. Always a text or facebook message about some guitar bits that are new and cool or the awesome business he was building. I'll never forget you buddy and I'll hold on to this guitar for the rest of my life. Rest in peace, brother.

Matt and Kelly have been great neighbors, always available to help when there was a need.  He made friends with everyone on our block as soon as they moved in.  He knew how to talk to anyone.  Matt made the most amazing metal works in his shop.  I was so impressed with the care that he took in making doors, signs, banisters, and all kinds of creations.  He was always funny, and kind and it was obvious that he loved his family more than anything.  It is going to be hard not hearing him work in his shop or to see the things he has done, or to see him hanging out with his family.  He got a good start on the Halloween extravaganza for Kelly this year.  Blessings to your family, Matt!   

I’ve known Matt since we were little in elementary school.My best memories of him was in highschool with his jokes and his love for music and cars and the band The cure.Matt was allways kind and had a big heart.You will be missed.

I met Matthew Morgan for 40 minutes.. in that 40 minutes of installing my catalytic converter protector, he acted like we were best friends. This man was talented. We talked about what's going on in my life with work and he talked about some new projects he was working on at the shop. I'll never forget how caring this man was. He will forever be in our hearts. Prayers out to Kelly Morgan and the rest of the family. Rest In Peace.. wish we could have got to talk more. 

I met Matt at NOV 3-4 years ago.  We instantly became great friends.  We were close in age and had the same interests in music, cars, aquariums, and custom fabrication.  But all that stuff wasn't even necessary.  He was one of those magic few that just naturally exudes a kindness and caring for others along with a fun and magnetic personality.  We would often trade artwork and/or parts we built.  There was many a brainstorming session about tools and fabrication ideas.  I was really impressed with his most recent venture getting the plasma cut products off the ground.  The picture shows a piece of artwork he gave me which is a business card holder fabricated from an engine piston/connecting rod and hand painted pinstriping.  I'll treasure it forever.  -Matt, I'll never listen to '80s hair bands or do any plasma cutting again without thinking of you.  I'll miss you, but I know we'll see each other again. I met Matt in high school, first day I met him he looked like Robert smith from the cure with his hair all done. Matt became one of my good friends for 25 yrs. Matt always had one of the greatest personalities a person could have. He was a quiet person but you knew something was brewing in his head.  Brother Matt you will be missed from all my heart.

I met Matt SEVERAL years ago. I was a waitress and he was a patron, along with many other ppl of our group. We all hung out and became close friends. A few years later my daughter was in the ER and was in need of a transport to children's hospital. As soon as I heard she needed to be transported by ambulance I went outside and fell to my knees praying to God, "Please let it be Matt".  I went inside to the ladies room. When I came back out there were 2 EMTs at the nurses desk. One was asking who they were transporting. I said,  "Matt, it's Lorie". He busted a move and ran into her room. He was normally the driver,  but not that night. He rode in the back with us. He showed Lorie pictures of his Dalmatians bragging about them. Keeping Lorie comfortable and relaxed even though she was very sick. To this day that is one of our best memories about a horrible situation. Matt was a wonderful role model,  friend,  husband,  and father. You will be greatly missed.  RIP Brother. 

When I was younger I always remember being told "You act just like Matthew" by my Grandma, Joann Clay. I always thought it was strange until I met him. What a compliment that turned out to be. Matt was such an awesome guy and I wish I got more time to hang out with him. Ill always remember him showing me how to play Soul to Squeeze by the chili peppers on my first bass guitar. Matt was another son to me while he was    growing up. He and my youngest son, Philip, were 2 peas in a pod. Their antics definitely kept me on my toes! Matt continually kept us laughing. He had the biggest kindness heart a person can have. He would help anyone that needed something even at a early age. My heart breaks thinking of how much he loved Kelly and the children, may God be with them in their time of need. 😇🙏

I first met Matt with his fashionable one sided flop skater hair cut at Westwood HS. First impressions were he was more a skater than a biker (bmx/freestyle), occasionally a little country but always metal - and incredibly mechanically inclined. We’d played guitar together here and there then met back up at the fire department which would start our careers together. Then I found out he was dating Kelly who I knew from health occupations. They make a great couple. It didn’t matter how long we’d go without talking, any time he answered the phone it was like we talked just yesterday. Will miss him. 

I remember my brother, Ryan, Matthew, and many others.  Ryan and Matthew WERE brothers....I will never say they "were like" brothers.  I remember when Ryan passed away and how sad Matt was.  I am so glad I got to spend a little time with you recently, brother.  I love and miss you already, brother, but it makes me smile and cry at the same time when I think about the reunion you, Ryan, and Mom are having.  Until we meet again...Bobby Dimon

It has been years since I've been able to hang out with Matt and Kelly and the family.  I met both of them through work. Kelly and I quickly became friends and her husband worked just a few floors down.  When we needed a break we'd go downstairs to peak in and see what he was up to in that cubby hole he worked in. His eyes would light up and he always had a smile on his face for Kelly.  He always had a joke or something ready to go to make her smile...always. 

Some may find it odd that I'm here writing my memories when I think I only met Matthew twice. But I knew him through Kelly. The stories, the pictures, the way she talked about him made me know him. It made me know what a funny, sweet, good hearted man he was. Her stories told me of someone who loved her and was an unbelievably great Dad. He had talent, I saw the pictures of the metal work he did. He pursued his dream which in and of itself is a tremendous trait to have. He took chances. I feel like he showed Avery and Parker what it meant to be real. A real human being. Many will miss him, none more then Kelly and Avery and Parker. But they know that they have one incredible kick butt guardian angel now and he will be with them always. 

I’m so sorry for your loss. I first met Matthew back when he became an EMT, and I always looked forward to working with him. I remember when everything shut down last year, and he and I talked about his plans to just start his own business. I told him I wished I had half the talent he did, and I told him he would do great things with his own business and would go far. Those of us that knew him were blessed to have him in our lives.  Mrs. Morgan, my prayers are with you and the family. Rest In Peace my brother. Until we meet again.

You.. were my introduction to EMS.. my first time on a truck.. funny and  sent me on my way to a very long journey.. I spent my next 10 years serving others.. thank you and rest easy brother.. the world was better with you..

I love trading holiday ideas and festivities  with the Morgan family -  You are all so creative and have done the coolest decor/parties together! My memory is from our first hot chocolate social - we had a good laugh when Matt teased my husband for leaving our Christmas lights on during the day. We’ll keep ‘em burning bright just for you! 

Matt was one of the 1st member’s I met in the brother/sisterhood  of what we call ATXTC.  He welcomed me like I wasn’t a stranger,  walked up, shook my hand, and told me he was happy I joined! We shot the shit all the time! FB MESSENGER was a constant party for POD6 fabrications, ideas, and just all around bullshit!  He built me a custom fire pit, we working on getting my CAT Cover designed,  and we were linking up with RRT Parts to sell cat covers! His ideas and dreams were so big,  he was going places!  Matt Morgan was someone this world deserved, someone this world needed , and someone this world will surely miss! Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away! A husband, a father, a son, an uncle, and most of all a BROTHER! Always Remembered & Never Forgotten!
