

Parker was born in Hubbard, Texas on November 7, 1940. He attended Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Oklahoma, where he met, Mary, his wife of 54 years. Parker and Mary moved to Houston, Texas in 1964 and lived there until they retired to Highland Haven, Texas in 2009.
He will be missed by his friends and family. He loved people. Parker described himself as a “people person” and was always on the go trying to spend as much as time as he could in the community, at the local schools’ sporting events, and in various ministries.
A teacher with Galena Park Independent School District for over 30 years, he worked in the CATE Department teaching many young people valuable skills for life. He was also very active in the Church of the Nazarene and became an ordained minister after retirement. He continued mentoring young men right up until his death in the Kairos Hughes Unit Prison Ministry and in his church. He touched the lives of countless people during his years of service.
Parker is survived by Mary Wilson of Highland Haven, Texas, wife; Stan Wilson and Robin Young of Mansfield, Texas, son and daughter-in-law; Diane and Jem Woods of Burnet, Texas, daughter and son-in-law; Wren and Kal Saldana, Shelbi Woods, Lyndsi Woods, grandchildren; Everett Saldana, great-grandson; and James Falkner of Bethany, Oklahoma, uncle and surrogate father. He will also be missed by his brothers, Larry Wilson, Terry Delso, and Jerry Delso, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Parker is pre-deceased by Lillian “Dutch” and Arnold “Lefty” Delso, mother and step-father; Jessie Lee Wilson, father; Everleigh Klaire Saldana, great-granddaughter; Lacy Kay Gillespie, niece; Betty Falkner, aunt and surrogate mother.
A memorial for Parker will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 3 PM at the Hill Country Church of the Nazarene, 1750 Bagdad Rd., Cedar Park, Texas 78613.
