Penny went to Florence High School and Florence Community College. She then went to work for a local judge as a Secretary. Over the years, Penny also worked for Redman Homes and Gould.
In 1983 Penny met Robert Martinez and they were married in June of 1984 years later. Eventually they had three children Cecilia, Daniel, and Marissa and step-son Brandon. Last year, Penny and Robert celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary.
In 1991 Penny was diagnosed with Lupus and only given 10 years to live, but with great determination she surpassed it and blessed us with 10 more years of great memories.
Penny was a devoted wife, mother, And friend to all who entered their home. She often enjoyed entertaining guests and cooking her famous super nachos or homemade green enchiladas.
I think most of us here have a good amount of memories from Robert and Penny's garage playing pool, cards, listening to music and enjoying Penny's great cooking.
The greatest joy in Penny's life was her granddaughter Riley. Having her in her life seemed to give Penny a bit more spring in her step and the biggest smile on her face.
She was a remarkably fun-loving person. Penny was one of great love and humor who always seemed to find a way to take light of any situation.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Feb. 4, 1012 at the Hill Country Fellowship Church at 2:00 p.m.
Penny, thank you for being part of our lives. We are all going to miss you.
