Our condolences go to Ray's family.  I was a classmate and team-mate of his at Hilbert High School/ Mary was a cheerleader for Ray's exploits on the basketball court.  We met with Ray in September and renewed old times a acquaintences.

I only met Ray a couple times but always found him to be incredibly gracious! Please know that I have been praying that God will give you all strength. Sending my love and sympathy.

I met Ray in Dec. of 1970 when he hired me at Shade. I am a better person for meeting and knowing your  Dad. Ray was a great inspiration to me, and I always respected him for what he stood for. He will be missed by many.

Tim, Tom, Amy, Bill and Families,
Our deepest sympathy to you and your families in the passing of your dad.  Our prayers are with you as you gather this week in honor of your dad and celebrate his life.
In addition to your tears and loss, we can imagine the joy you will feel in memories of himâ€¦and there are LOTS of memories.  Earlier this week, Tim shared some stories that will last your lifetimes.  
I cannot help recalling hitch hiking with Tim from Menomonie to Green Bay in 1978 to meet your parents.  As always, Tim introduced me saying "This is Jeff...his dad makes toilets!"  You might imagine Ray had lots of fun with that!  
Susie remembers her first encounter with Ray as "boy is he a ladies man!"  Thinking about that leaves me wondering how his son's fell so far from the tree!
More seriously, how blessed you have all been to have loving parents who were married all those years.  No doubt they would find joy in your celebrations this week and your continued gatherings in the years ahead.
We have enjoyed your family over the years and hope we can find opportunities to see you all again.  
May God help you find peace in His presence in the days ahead,

I met Ray on March 31, 1969. That was my first day as an employee of Shade Business Forms. Ray and I spent 5 days working in the plant that week and we became great friends during the 15 years I worked at Shade. During that time, I saw how great a person Ray was. His integrity, humility, character and selflessness was a model of how to live ones life. Ray's friendship is one of the best gifts I have ever had. Even though I haven't seen him in a number of years, I will never forget him..and I will forever be grateful for knowing and loving him. Jack Riopelle

We were so sorry to hear about Ray.  We met Ray shortly after moving to Burnet, Tx five years ago.  It was our routine to have coffee with Ray after church most Sundays and,  of course, many early evenings spent on his patio. We had a bond with Ray through our midwestern roots.  Ray talked a lot about his early years with his mom and dad and brother and of course his many years with Colleen and how much he loved and missed her.  It made us wish that we had known her. He was so proud of all of his children and grandchildren and had many stories to share in that department.  He talked about his faith and prayer life as he continued to attend Hill Country Fellowship and establish a relationship with Pastor Rodney McGee and his wife Rosemary.  On the night before he headed to Temple for his surgery,  he shared the peace that he had about the possible outcomes.  He was ready to join Colleen in heaven if that was the Lord's will for him.  We prayed together before leaving.  We loved him and will miss him terribly.

He and I were great friends when he lived in Channing.But after the family moved to Hilbert -
We only saw each other while competing in baseball in the Northern Sate league,  he with Marinette and I played for Oconto.
I also did some officiating when he was playing basketball with the best amateur team in the state.  The Beam Chemical team.
Also withnessed him stealing passes away from the old Mpls. Lakers and heard some of those players say what a great player your Dad was.
I have a picture of your Dad and I taken off one of the Detroit papers following a American Legion game when he and I were 11 and 12 years old.
We didn't play much because there too many older and much better players than us, such as your Uncle Val.
Did you ever see that picture ?
Anyhow if you would like me to send you a copy of that newspaper picture,
 I would gladly make a copy and send it to you if you would provide me with your address.
Anyhow again, my condolences - your Dad was the greatest !

My family and I are so very sorry for your loss. I met Ray in the late ninety's when my son Jacob was in High School . Jacob was involved with many activities and was always selling something for fund raisers.  He would tell me of the nicest man in our neighborhood who would  invite him in and would always buy something from Jacob.  When Jacob graduated we had a little party and Jacob wanted to know if he could invite Mr Heim.  Of course we did and he came and thats how we became friends and came to dearly love him.  He would always talk about his WONDERFUL family and his life.  Giving me a widowed mother good advise on how to raise a successful son.  This neighborhood will never be the same without Ray.  Everyone loved him.  He was so very proud of you, his family but deeply loved your mother and spoke of her often. We are so sorry to hear of Ray's passing.  He was a wonderful neighbor  with a golden heart.  Always had a smile for everyone even when our son drove a golf ball in the front living room window.  Ray's comment was, "it's ok, he was only practicing his drive."  My God wrap his arms are the whole family and give you comfort and peace. With Deepest Sympathy.

It was a privilege to work with and know Ray for the 25 years that I was with Shade. Ray was a very funny man and one story I will never forget took place at a sales meeting in Florida. Ray teed up his drive from inside our suite and drove it straight through the open sliding glass door into the parking lot. Never broke anything. Prayers with you and the family.

It is sad to hear of Ray's passing. I knew Ray during my 13 year association with Shade where Ray gave more than he took. There are many of us that are better individuals as a result of our association with Ray.  Marilyn and I pass our condolences on to his son Billy and family.

I'm sorry to hear about Ray's passing.  I have many fond memories of when we both worked together at Shade.  I also remember babysitting for his son, Tim (when he was younger) and we would engage in a putting competition. Of course, Tim would always win and I had to pay up in candy bars.  Please accept my condolences.

Marvin and I will miss stopping by to visit with Ray on his porch. He liked to joke with Marvin, asking him if he was getting golf lessons from me? We are so glad to have known this wonderful man.

it  was an honor and privelge to have known both colleen and ray.   my thoughts and prayers go out the the heim family. he was the greatest neighbor that we could have ever had. the 11th hole at royal scot will never be the same . we both enjoyed many chats with ray and colleen.......trying to solve the worldly issues,to raising kids,and life in general.  i looked up to ray as a man and as a friend, and will cherish the time that we shared the 11th fairway at royal scot. the memories of both colleen and ray will always be etched into our hearts.........good bye our friend.

I was very sorry to hear about the passing of my old friend Ray. For over 20 years Ray was my most loyal & trusted employee. He was a great human being and touched the lives of many people.

I am sorry to hear of Ray's passing.  I have strong memories of seeing him at Grace Lutheran Church and supporting East High athletic teams when Tom played.  My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

We were sorry to hear that Ray had passed away. We have many good memories of Ray and Colleen as neighbors at Royal Scot, traveling to Myrtle Beach and visiting them in Texas.  We will miss them.  Are thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.  Ron and Bonnie Critser

To Ray's children,

Please accept my condolences on the passing of your father.  I was a high school classmate/teammate of his son Tom and a member of Grace Lutheran church.  If memory serves me right, Ray was a very good athlete.  His children obviously inherited some of their athletic abilities and enjoyment of sports from him.  

I hope you can find comfort in the support of friends and family at this difficult time.

Each time I play hole 10 or walk the course, I know that there is an emptiness that will never be filled. Ray will not be sitting in his chair cheering me on or giving me a hard time. My comfort is knowing that Ray is with his "sweetheart", whom I never met, but heard story after story about. I will truely miss him.
