

Ruby Speck Davis was born near the Lone Grove community in Llano County TX. on September 5,1914 to Walter Leonard "Hode" Speck and Temperance Annie Templeton Speck. She died February 1, 2011 in Burnet, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William K. "Dub" Davis, Jr., daughter, Rebecca Davis Barton Vermillion, brothers Hubert and Woodrow and sisters Polly and Thelma.
Ruby grew up and attended school in Lone Grove, TX. She married W.K. Davis, Jr. on August 22, 1932. During the depression and war years they lived in various locations in Texas and Arkansas while Dub worked on bridge construction and other jobs to support the family. After living in Austin and Pasadena, they were able to return to their beloved Llano County in 1959. They enjoyed their years in Llano where they were surrounded by family and long-time friends. In 1970 they retired to Silver Creek on Lake Buchanan. When Dub died, Ruby moved to Burnet and lived at the Rhomberg Apartments. Due to declining health, Ruby moved to the Oaks Nursing Center in 2007.
Ruby is survived by her son, Jerry Davis and wife Peggy of Marble Falls, TX; daughter, Paula Bundrant and husband Pete of Burnet; Grandchildren, Jerry Brian Davis and wife Eileen of Star, ID; Pamela Davis Wear and husband Craig of Montgomery, TX; Susan Barton Sims and husband Bob of Odessa; Great-grandchildren Alyson Davis, Kris Davis, Mason Wear, Dawson Wear, Nicole Sims, Scott Sims and wife Casey.
Ruby was a faithful member of Vanderveer St. Church of Christ in Burnet.
The family would like to thank the staff of Oaks Nursing Center for their loving care of Ruby, especially those that work on East Hall.
