

On Jan. 17, 1935 he was married to Eavie Irene Johnson and they had celebrated 80 years of marriage before her death on June 16, 2012.
R.V. and Eavie started married life on their farm then moved to Houston where he delivered milk. He decided he wanted more, so he went into construction and became a contractor. He was a deacon in the First Baptist Church, Burnet, where he donated his expertise as a contractor for the sanctuary.
R.V. and Eavie enjoyed a varied life. They loved to travel in their motor home, go fishing and were generous with their home grown fruit and garden items. He loved to sing to Eavie. R.V.’s Bible was full of clippings of stories and jokes. He also knew how to save money on hearing aid batteries, which friends laughed about.
R.V. is survived by a nephew and nieces and many friends.
Services will be held Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church in Burnet with Rev. Dr. Jim Morrow and Rev. Dr. Ricky Guenther officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park near Burnet.
